A friend wants a menthol with no PG. I found some Everclear in my pantry so I’m going to dissolve in that. I have 27 grams of Everclear, how much menthol can I add and which option would I use when using the calculator?
I usually make a 10% solution using PG and use the 10% option in the calculator. Would I get the same result dissolving in Everclear?
Thanks in advance. I like using calculators and weighing exactly.
Thank you! I browsed the list and there isn’t really anything useful. I’m going to start with 13.5 g menthol crystals to my 27 g of everclear. Hopefully it will dissolve and I will go from there. I’ll make sure to add the necessary info so it will show in the flavor list.
It was calculation for a 10% menthol base using 27g everclear. I think you had it figured. Me personally, I would mix it stronger to use less alcohol per mix.
This would go into mixes @ 50% less than what you have been using, cutting down on alcohol in the mix.
The menthol crystals (13.5 g in 27 g everclear) dissolved in like, 30 seconds. From what I can tell, I want to add 10% everclear (max) to any 100% VG mix. I wonder if this, along with some Koolada, will give me what I’m looking for? An obvious menthol? Too strong? Not enough? Am I on the right track??
I have only 2 g menthol crystals left on hand so hopefully this solution will be enough. It doesn’t smell terribly strong, though, and I don’t want to go above 10% everclear. We shall see…
I mix my menthol @ 33% and only use 2% max in mixes for a good menthol feel. And yes the Koolada adds to the cooling effect. There are other flavors that also give that menthol effect. Peppermint, Spearmint, Horehound, Wintergreen and Eucalyptus all gives this menthol effect. This one of my advs and menthol for my taste is right on point. Keep in mind menthol strength increases with steep so start low.
