I’m going to scale back my bottles.

@Yellowrose_2025 I also bought far too many bottles and now reuse the empty washed out concentrate bottles and one shot bottles which have the dripper nibs already. I also washed out the empty pg vg bottles but given they are 250ml they have never been used for diy mix as nothing been good enough to make a larger batch

I feel that. I used to only mix 30ml, but they ran out to fast. Now, I don’t mix anything over 60ml. I just do multiple 60ml of flavors I like and they last me a while.

Actually I think you’re better off starting with 1 shots. I started with a bunch of random flavors that I knew nothing about, some I still have sitting in a bin. At least one shots are tested and known to taste good (I think?). Also, sorry cause I think I went a little overboard on information lol.

what i like to do is go to the flavor list, search a flavor im interested in then click sort by number of recipes and read the notes of the highest rated, and ill check reviews before i put anything in my cart

this helps avoid wasting money on mediocre flavours

I’ve done that a couple times. It just gets a bit confusing. The ratings and percentages can be confusing . Like INW creme brulee… Majority say it tastes good. So far for me, all it tastes like is flat, cheap beer, vomit and metallic taste like sucking on a beer cap. At 1.5%. Im still confused about that one. I’ll let it steep… It smells good… Tastes absolutely wretched right now.

Seriously, none of the notes say it tastes like vomit and stale beer.

It helps to find a reviewer that most closely matches what you taste of the same flavor. Go back and read the reviews for flavors you have already mixed and you should find a couple of them. Mystic Rose and Concrete River(?)
were the ones whose reviews helped me personally in the early days of my diy journey. Also the reddit flavor reviews are usually helpful as well. You don’t need to join the forum to read those.

creme brulee is a custard type flavor
some people are really sensitive to those
I tried 5 of the best strawberry’s and they all taste like garbage to me
im strawberry blind when it comes to vaping
they taste great in sprite though

you learn to avoid these and become very selective the recommended % are a bit skewed because we have better hardware now. good idea to start lower and buy smaller flavor bottles if your unsure

I actually love 90% of custards but this one I didn’t seem to get along with. Tasted quite blah to my palette but I really like INW Custard…

I couldn’t agree more @Mediocre_Remedial. I’ve been let down by countless glass bottles and caps. Finally I found Wheaton, and I will never switch. ALL kinds of sizes for your needs, and HIGH quality caps. These are the ONLY bottles I use in my -35F freezers.

I’m almost out of nicotine and reconsidering getting a larger amount, I’ve been thinking of getting these type of bottles. Thank you!!! Ever since the first time I ever bought nicotine… I just hate handling the stuff more than I need to. I triple checked the cap of that bottle before putting it into the freezer, turned it upside down and squeezed and it was locked in. Still, the thing fell over in the freezer, and dripped all down the freezer and fridgerator onto the floor. One of my little babies potentially stepped in a little bit of it it too!!! Thank God he was okay. I have to wonder sometimes if it did actually do something to him. He does things like jump off the walls, lick random things, and is very hyperactive… Otherwise he’s a sweet, healthy little cuddle bug. Anyways, after that mess, I never wanted to try buying a larger quantity of nicotine and storing nicotine in the freezer ever again.

Im thinking this next order I’ll get a bit more, some of these bottles, and to give myself the extra peace of mind I will then triple ziplock them, and then store them in th back of the freezer. It just lasts me forever only putting 1.5mg in my juice.

@Mediocre_Remedial that is the WORST !!! VERY sorry to hear that. I’ve posted my NIC breakdown/storage elsewhere, so I won’t repeat it here but quality glass, and caps (as you know) are a must. Leaving an airgap (headspace) around 1.5" will allow for expansion/contraction, and I also tape my caps, and ziplock bag for added protection.

Glad everyone is alright after your leak.

I put all my bottles in one gallon plastic freezer bags. Haven’t figured out a good transfer from liter plastic bottles to my thirty mil desk working bottles . It would be nice if I could find squeeze tops to fit the liter bottle.

@rcleven, how about further breaking the liter down into 120’s, or 60’s ??

Doesn’t work for me. Still have to use the small funnels to get into a smaller opening in 30’s. Used to use 60’s as working bottles but the nic went bad before I could use it up. 60’s worked fine when I was making bigger batches. Now all I make are 60’s and 30’s all at different times.

I always have my nic in my freeZer and just make about 500ml of unflavored base once in a while and i store that in the fridge

its ready to mix and add flavors anytime and thats when i transfer it to 30’s or 60’s etc

I bought most of my nic when the government was threatening to stop nicotine sales. I stocked up. Bought about 4 liters with 2 liters I had in the freezer downstairs. My newest bottles are three to four years old now. As soon as I crack the Cap seals I broke a liter down into 60’s. The 60’s into quart freezer bags and kept in the upstairs freezer till needed for a work bottle. Moved down to 30’s because because the 60’s would red as all heck during the summer. During the warm months I mix max VG. During the colder weather I might mix down to 35/65 to get it to wick. I spend a couple of hours a day outside. Temperature can be below 0 F to 30 F. The 30’s are working great. Bottle goes empty, grab another from the freezer. Mixing one base doesn’t work for me . Pouring from the liter bottle into 30’s I must’ve wasted a 150 mm on the desk top. Only thing I can think of is to pour the nic into pint squeeze bottles. That way it goes into the 30’s without spilling any.
