So I’m looking at getting into DIY ejuice & want to know how this looks.
I want to baby step so I’m going to get one shots first and then if I like mixing I’ll starting getting flavors (after I find recipes I like).
So my first order:
4 -one shots (30ml each)
1-30ml sweetener (Sucralose)
1 -liter of 100mg/ml nicotine (PG base)
1 -500ml PG
1-500ml VG
24 pk 4oz Amber Boston glass bottles -to break down the nic
10- 120 ml chubby gorilla PET unicorn bottles
10- 60 ml chubby gorilla PET unicorn bottles
10-30 ml chubby gorilla PET unicorn bottles
1- 25ml graduated glass clylinder
Syringes of various mls
Scale
Gloves
How does this look? Am I missing anything or need more or less of something?
Thanks
Your list is pretty complete. You probably never need the the glass cylinder and the gloves. I would suggest redirecting that money into more flavors or bottles.
@Yellowrose_2025 first off, welcome to ELR, and you might have just posted one of, if not THE best First Order List I’ve seen. Very well done. You even went so far as to state, that you WOULD be running One-Shots FIRST, and seeing how it goes before diving in. Again, very smart. @rcleven might be right at some level about the gloves, BUT, I can say, when I first started I did get into quite a few spills, splashes, and accidents, so gloves, or even goggles (yes), which are personal safety related, are never a bad idea. FAR better to buy them, use them, and decide later are not needed, rather than get into a NIC splash incident, where you wish you HAD have purchased them. I agree also, that the glass cylinder will probably not be needed. GREAT first list, and good feedback from @rcleven.
Thank you! You I’ll drop the cylinder. And I should have added we already have the gloves because my hubby had bought them coz he uses them when we cook with jalapeños.
Thank you! I scrolled though a lot of sites and took lots of notes. I’m really excited about starting DIYing
I’ll drop the cylinder but we already have the gloves so I figure I might as well use them
Hi @Yellowrose_2025. Great list 100%. The only thing I see is that having only 500ml of VG will bite you in the ass real quick. 500ml of PG lasts me a long while, while I rip through the VG much quicker. Like 10/1 ratio roughly. Hope that helps!
Thank you! Do you think I should get a liter instead? Or maybe a liter for both? I plan on playing around with ratios and going for a 60VG/40PG (or maybe 50/50) instead of the typical 70VG/30PG in commercial freebase.
May I ask what device you will be using to need 60/40 or 50/50?
Even at 50/50 you will use more VG when mixing as the flavours and nicotine are in PG bases and this will add to total ratio. Depending on nic strength and flavour total percentage you may have 10% or more of your PG just from those.
Everything else on that list is great. I had a graduated measure when I first started, my wife uses it for horse medication now as I never used it at all.
That looks like a lot of nicotine. I don’t know what your preference is, but I use 1.5mg/ml in my mixes and I’ve had this tiny bottle since summer, and I vape CONSTANTLY. I just like the nic to be fresh, and it just lasts so long I only get small bottles. I tried storing a larger bottle in the freezer once, and it fell over and leaked all over the place despite me triple checking the cap. (This nic companies bigger bottles suck.) The little bottle has a convenient drip cap though.
Bull city doesn’t sell VG anymore, they might have PG still. But these type bottles are extremely useful for mixing. (And yes I seem to always get it on my hands) you’re gonna want more VG too. It goes pretty quick.
I’m just getting worried with all these vape bans going on. I want to make sure that I have plenty (I’ll order more at some point the sticker price is just a bit of a shock right now…lol)
I plan on breaking my nic down for long term storage & only have a small amount in the fridge for a “working” amount
