I couldn’t get this posted on a regular recipe but still wanted to share my process and experience.
Started with 28g of Sutliff vanilla custard tobacco in a sterilized jar. Added 200ml pg and sealed up the jar.
Steeped 6 weeks. I shook the jar daily to help the pg absorb better.
filtered through regular unbleached coffee filters twice.
filtered using an aeropress and 2 micron filter paper, cut where filter paper sticks on sides of filter basket covering all holes. Very slow process didn’t put very much pressure on press at all. Aeropress isn’t needed but does make it waaay faster. I used this filter for the smaller particles that broke up during shaking leading to an easier following filter step.
Filtered using 30ml luer lock syringe and .22 micron lab membrane sterilization filter which is also luer lock. This process takes forever.
I’m not entirely sure the sterilization filter is even needed but being so cheap on amazon for 10 pack of membranes its probably safer. I haven’t seen anyone doing this filter process in my research before doing this.
After all the filters greedily stealing liquid I ended up with 190ml or so of NET.
All stuff can be found relatively cheap on amazon. Well except the tobacco but there’s plenty of sites to find it cheap.
The end product is very dark and could probably be mixed anywhere from 8 to 14% With 3 tests I liked 12%
This ends up being so much cheaper than buying from say black note and I think the quality of flavor is just as good.
Definitely a coil killer liquid i dont smoke NET on factory coils.
I’ve done this using 3 other types of tobacco using the same ratios and they all gave a similar concentration.
As for nicotine extraction I’m no chemist but from my research cold extraction doesn’t produce nicotine in the PG. I tried to find a simple titration test but couldn’t source. The first tank I smoked I did without added nicotine and was craving it by the end so that was good enough proof for me.
Also want to mention its best to not use the same filter/membrane/syringe for a different batch. They are cheap and comes sterilized and sealed.
Overall this is a very fun process and the resulting eliquid is so much better than just smoking the tobacco.
