Very good idea. I would love to be able to help with fixings the duplicates and proofreading type of stuff.
I’m quite new to the site and alot of my UK friends are joining and taking up DIY. It’s great. The only thing I think could be improved is the stash listings. There are many duplicates and my OCD is kicking in when things like (TFA) aren’t at the end of the flavour title. So some way to admin the flavours so there are no duplicates would produce more results for your own flavour stash.
Apart from that don’t change a thing. It’s a great place to store your recipes and get ideas for new ones.
@JoJo and I go through the queue every once in a while - well, mostly JoJo as I just randomly pick a some flavors with dupes and attack those and clean up Have I mentioned how much @JoJo rocks?!
I know I keep saying it, but I will get to re-designing the flavor database and most of the duplicate crap will be, if not gone then a lot less messy
The one thing I would love to see at some point in the future is a field on the flavour page to input a suggested steep time. It would be really helpful to get some input on how long each flavour needs to really shine!

As far as the 1st post here (such a long time ago), I think that ELR is only growing bigger, and better. I am seeing a DECREASE in some of the other DIY sites. Perhaps they’re coming here.
I can’t debate how many users come here for the recipies, mixing software, forums, etc., but ELR is fairly well rounded wherein whatever you need to get, you can get it here. Slow sites suck, and the popular ones are the ones that get attacked, so that should tell you something. Who wastes time flooding a site that no one goes to ?? I donated to daath early on as I saw the real value in ELR. Unlike many “other” sites he stays VERY close to all of us, our complaints, suggestions, and thoughts, which you really just DON’T get in many of the other sites, and that’s something that should not be understated. My only complaints have been already mentioned ^^^^^, with the biggest being duplicates, etc.
Is there a way to have the system ignore my flavor company and search for what I can make based on wider results? Say for example I have Bavarian Cream, Vanilla Custard, And Sweet Strawberry but since mine are from lesser known OOO flavors nothing comes up.
Not that it matters so much to me as I’ve never been one to follow the pack preferring to blaze my own trail but for the very new users with small flavor libraries a button to click to (Ignore Flavor Company - Search by Flavor Name Only) would bring up thousands of recipes for BC, VC and SSB and not the (Nothing Found) I get now. A red flag or something to show where your subbing for exact flavors. I’m sure better heads then mine can devise a way.
I’m smart enough to go a hunting on my own and simply adapt the recipes to taste but I woke up in the night with this in my head and it wouldn’t let go. Smart idea or not I though I’d toss it out the window and see if it sticks someplace.

No, but you can add the more popular flavour brands to your stash to get more results and then sub with the flavours you own. You won’t get arrested for adding flavours you don’t have
