Goodmorning vapers!
SirRisc is here with another barking review.
No juicereview this time but a lovely piece of hardware for cloudchasers and high wattage vapers alike.
I’ll be looking at a clone from FastTech, the China-based website known for its cheap prices and slow shipping.
The Doge V2 was originally made by Congrevape as the successor of the wildly popular Doge V1 which was marketed as a competition RDA.
While I personally don’t agree on the whole “competition” hype, the Doge V1 performed like no other because of its wide open airflow and big deck to build on.
The clone comes from FastTech and as such I don’t know who actually made it.
The Doge V2 improves on its formula with a few distinct differences…
- Deeper juicewell, allowing for more juice to be dripped into the RDA without flooding the coils.
- Conically reduced topcap, which really brings out a lot more flavor. Something the V1 was lacking with some builds.
- Bigger posts, the authentic has a copper center post while the clone has stainless steel.
- Bigger postholes, 3mm holes allowing for some very crazy builds with thick wire.
- An air injection hole in the topcap cools the vapor, no more hot lips!
- Large deep flat head screws to prevent stripping, M3 threading.
- 5 times larger insulator in 3 pieces, peek.
- The Doge V2
As I mentioned above, the Doge V2 is an big improvement over the V1 in terms of both flavor and cloudchasing.
Depending on your build the Doge will rival any other RDA (bar things like the Magma, which was essentially made for flavorchasing) in flavor.
The clone is definitely not bad, though a little rough on details like the postholes. Other than that I think it’s on par with the authentic. (Though personally I would advise on buying the authentic!)
- Deck
The deeper juicewell is more than welcome, the V1 tended to flood easily but the V2 takes quite a lot of juice before having the same problem.
- Postholes
The bigger postholes are great if you’re into thick wire builds, with wire under 0.3mm it becomes a real hassle not to snap your wire with the screws. That said, this RDA wasn’t made to use thin wiregauges. It was made to house twisted clapton builds and the likes. Crazy builds with lots of power going through them.
- Topcap
- The conically reduced chamber
The topcap is the biggest improvement so far. The conically reduced chamber provides better flavor and is aesthetically more pleasing too. The air injection hole in the top cap ensures a noticeably cooler vape and above all, it keeps your lips from burning when you’re cloudchasing or chainvaping.
- Yay, a blue screwdriver!
Inside of the package from FastTech are less accessories as in the authentic package. The authentic comes with a copper centerpost and a stainless steel centerpost, the clone only comes with the stainless steel post. Fasttech delivers a spare set of o-rings for the topcap, a blue screwdriver of course, and a set of beautifully wrapped coils which I haven’t used (not sure what the resistance is either, I haven’t measured them).
- A better looking topcap
Assembled the Doge V2 clone looks great, the topcap is now conical in shape which I think looks better than the V1 with the cooling fins. Coïncidently, the V2 topcap does fit the V1 and vice versa.
- Airflow for days, bro
The airflow on this RDA is amazing, it’s like breathing vapor.
The cylon styled holes measure in at 12mm width by 3mm height, and also offers the option for single coil builds by closing off one side.
- Copper screw
As with the V1, the Doge V2 comes with a copper screw which is fully adjustable for those mods that don’t sport a springloaded 510 pin. There’s also a serial number on the bottom, which we all know is complete bullshit. These clones get churned out by the thousands and are anything but unique.
- Putting a build in there…
- Getting her wicked and wet…
A parallel dual coil made with 0.3mm wire, 3mm diameter, 7 wraps, clocking in at 0.41ohm.
So how does she vape, SirRisc?
Fucking awesome. At the pricepoint this is sitting at, you really can’t go wrong. Though on a sidenote, I would really encourage you to spend a little more and get the authentic. The authentic is machined much cleaner and offers better options in terms of materials. It also sports a real serialnumber and funny packaging.
That’s about it, I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I’m enjoying vaping this thing.
See you next time!
