Dual Mesh strips not heating evenly

I just got my first mesh deck with the Titan 2 kit, I’ve spent a while trying to troubleshoot because I wasn’t getting flavor. I’ve tried both sets of mesh coils, and both of them heat unevenly. One will heat super quick, and the other will kind of barely half glow right behind it. They’re supposed to glow at the same time, no? I’ve even tried flushing the deck out with hot water, I did find some machine shavings underneath the deck o-ring…

I don’t know what the heck’s going on here. Please don’t tell me my deck is faulty or something. :skull_and_crossbones:

Let me add I’m using the recommended pulse at 20 watts, If I turn the volt up, they do both heat up very quickly but one is obviously lagging behind the other, and isn’t really giving a full glow. I don’t know is this normal?

It seems like if I switch the mesh strips around, same exact thing happens. So it’s not the strip, It’s something with the deck I guess. I’m pretty sure the videos I watched both glowed at the same time. This one doesn’t want to.

Trying re wicking. Eh. No good. This thing should be giving me great flavor, I can’t even taste the sweetness it seems like. The videos I watch, people talk about the great flavor on the first puff. Doesn’t seem to have the same effect for me.

The mesh on the left looks unevenly placed. Usually when mesh heats unevenly for me it’s either the piece of mesh is crap or the screw for the clamp is misaligned. If that’s Steam crave mesh…it’s not as good as Wotofo mesh.

I’ve tried SC mesh and I just don’t like the flavor from it. Also, for lack of flavor… you only need a light amount of cotton in those wells, like thinned and just folded over, not stuffed. This mesh is good too-

I would not suggest heating mesh at 20 watts. I start at 10…it’s all you should need. You can burn out a piece of mesh that way. Mesh is all I used to use and after using non-mesh, I can hardly taste anything from mesh. SC don’t thrive on mesh, imo they thrive on big beast coils. Pulse them ever so light at 10 watts…it’s just to get any oils off the surface.

Thank you @Lynda_Marie I switched to the stock dual coil set up and kind of gave up on the mesh for now. I think I may have accidentally burned out the mesh. I pulsed it at higher than 20, didn’t glow it hard… just quick clicks. I’m worried I may have messed it up though. I’ll try ordering some of that different mesh.

I’m getting much better flavor with the standard deck. Holy crap this thing really does pump out some steam. The clouds are super thick. Wow. .11ohm 100 watts. :eyes:. Vapor doesn’t feel ultra warm either.

The mesh screens made the deck pretty damn warm when I was vaping on it as well. The standards do if I chain it at 100 watts… But its at 100 watts so I expect that lol. Still runs wayyyy cooler than any of my RDAs I set up dual coil.

You can bump the volts up on that if you want a warmer vape- I’m using .11 on my dead rabbit v2 and I’m at roughly 130-150 but since I’ve been sick and have an awful lingering cough, I’m down to 80 watts and it’s like I’m vaping air… and STILL makes me cough! Are you running all 4 batteries in that mod or just 2?

@Mediocre_Remedial congrats on getting that beast fired up. I personally having tried quite a few “meshers”, never flipped head over heels for them, and always went back to coils. I know there are def. mesh fanboys out there, so I can’t speak to all of the in’s and out’s with mesh.

I do know that when I was testing mesh on a SteamCrave, the “humps” of cotton needed to be HIGHER than the mesh. Meaning, your wicks shouldn’t come out from under the mesh, and go straight down. That had more to do with dry hitting than mesh firing, taste, etc.
