Took mine apart from the bottom ,does not really help much it’s two piece cleaning with a soak may not get any machine oil out (if that’s your problem)
Running mine .14 aliens 3mm I find it rdl ish 2.5 mm was airey but not much. coils just above the side posts very similar to yours may help
Flavor wise it’s one of the better ones

On my setup, the 8mm coil length worked perfectly, leaving the coils above all of the air inlets, and it seemed to pull plenty of flavor from the sides, and lower …

9.0-10.0 mm ?? I may have to try that, pull even MORE from the bottom of the coil.

i just got a few tanks that have this vertical drop-coil-in deck
problem is they did not come with any tool to measure leg length of the coil (china clones)
any idea what that tool would be called or where i could get one?

I am the last person to judge you there. Custard is my go to. Nothing beats a good coil killer custard.
