Wow it looks like there’s gonna be a ton of entries for this contest!
PM incoming!
Nice! I did a Malibu Sunset a couple years ago for SSMS. We have a few flavors in common. I used Grenadine (SC) (WF) for the pomegranate flavor but forgot or left out the cherry for some reason, lol. Now I have to go back and add it or I won’t feel right.
“As kids, looking over the Dania Beach Bridge…”
WOW…memories! We all went to Dania to paddle around Whiskey Creek back as kids.
Are you from Broward?
Yes, ma’am
Well hi neighbor!
Born & raised in Coconut Grove (Miami). In high school years my friends and I were always going up and down the waterways between Miami & Lauderdale. Everyone knew where Whiskey Creek was. And Dania Pier was theeeeee place to hang out, too.
That sounds so fun. Oh sometimes I wish I could live somewhere tropical. I feel like the winter makes me appreciate the beauty of spring and summer more though.
The key to sanity in Florida summers is to stay within 10 - 12 miles of the east coast ocean breezes.
Ok, thanks all for playing along and following along
Now for our 2 lucky winners! Chosen randomly on the Wheel of Names:
Congratulations @Lynda_Marie

Congratulations @IggyZ

Again, we appreciate all the involvement by the ELR members and thank you for your support!
Oh awesome! I originally was just aiming for a Pineapple, Orange and Coconut Rum cocktail recipe. It was good but seemed like it was missing something. So i added the closest thing I could think of to Grenadine and a little of my favorite Cherry to adapt it into this. There’s some contrast now and I am enjoying it much more… i should probably copy paste this response into my notes now that i think about it lol
That’s so cool that you did that. Same here. I learned to surf at the Dania Pier, north side of course. Growing up, my neighbor and best friend’s father ran a marina. The one at Federal Highway and Old Griffin Rd. Back then it was just Griffin Rd. He would pile us into his boat and take us water skiing on the intracoastal. Then we would just pull up on the sand on the canal opposite Dania Pier and start barbecuing and running back and forth from the ocean to the canal. Fun memories, so long ago.
ETA: I can’t believe you know Dania Beach and went there. It was and still is my favorite beach in FL. Small and non-commercial, unlike Lauderdale and Hollywood beaches. Another good beach we surfed at was Sheridan Street and a place we called Moondog Beach, somewhere between Dania and Hollywood Beach.
Congrats to the wheelie winners !!!
Damn Iggy is dialed in on that wheel lol
We used to do the same thing. We would launch our ski boat at Haulover Marina (Miami) and take turns each weekend putting 2 skiers out and see who could stay completely on our skis going from there all the way up to Dania in the ICW…no falling or letting go. Then a different 2 for the ride back. Then we’d pull up on the sand of Beer Can Island just inside Haulover Cut and bbq and hang out. We’d also surf on the north side of Haulover Pier as well. Themzzzz waz da days!
