Im with you there 100pct…I wish sometimes i wasnt sensitive to that either
Isn’t that ‘Butyric acid’ in real life butter, and butter(y) flavor compounds. I’m not sensitive to it,
Sadly for me it’s total, I get a vague hint from a couple of flavours though most just tast like nondescript candy, closest I’ve gotten is the LB Strawberry Cheesecake & that’s a very odd but good flavour, glad I am more into desserts than fruits.
Yes that sure makes things problematic, doing research on 1k+ flavours is a no no
For me it’s not the usual candidate of the butyric (SP?) acid thing like most & most of the time it’s from WF flavourings like the fluffy white cake, it really is horrid.
It can be for many but for me it’s something else I just have never been able to pin down
Oh Noooo that sucks.
I get a really strong and bitter coconut taste from that one…
Also get Strawberry blindness a lot and sometimes just a horrible note from strawberry if I vape it too often.
My vote for the best thread in '24 goes to this one! Exciting!
These are all in my Best in Class
category.
Sasami: Malaga Ice Cream. Cherry Delight. Waffle Dough.
CSC: Pistacio, Peanut Butter, Puffed Rice, Donut, Peach Apricot (how could you leave this one out Frunkster?)
RF: Cookies and Cream
Under-rated / Under-used: INW Pitaya, Chemno Grape, Lemon, MB Apricot, White Chocolate, SSA Butter Cream, FLV Raisin Rum
What can I say Mikser, I’m not a big fan of fruit vapes, I vape them but not for long before reaching for something else
Anything like Gold for Pipe (INW)?
Have or know of any good mixes with Raisin Rum (FLV)? I just didn’t give it the time and attention I needed to. Until then…
Nothing like it, here are my notes if it helps Muth -
Tobacco Gold (CSC)
Much fuller flavour than the other 2 tobaccos I have tested from this range so far, it’s a pretty decent tobacco this & almost good enough to vape as it stands even at the 1% tested.
A nice full yet mellow blonde leaf tobacco that has a fair amount of presence yet is mild enough to not be to forward, no hint of ash or earthiness to it but does have a real leathery component to it which works very well & is quite convincing, it is very sweet for a tobacco but very much in a natural tobacco sweetness way rather than sugars & again does work very well in the profile.
It’s a well rounded flavour IMO & ticks a lot of the boxes in terms of making for a good full flavored yet mild tobacco taste that I feel will be well suited to dessert tobacco profiles, one that should blend quite easily without being to pronounced yet bring character & depth to a mix, I was expecting a Golden Virginia type taste from this which it does have elements of, but also a lot more with more complexity & depth of flavour, hints of a darker bolder more flavorful strain.
It’s not a full blown slap in the face tobacco for sure, but there is no doubt about it being a good tobacco flavouring if that makes sense, overall very good indeed & vapes quite like a NET tobacco IMO

No never really mixed with it so we are in the same boat
It kind of sounds like a Natural Cavendish NET I used to buy from Naturally Extracted Tobacco, here in the US, until they went under. They also offered a good Black Cavendish. I’m working on trying to create a couple varieties of Black Cavendish. It’s going to take awhile using the flavors available. We’ll see.
Nothing worth mentioning, but i can see it as a flavor with a high potential. Great flavor on it’s own, but sadly it’s so rarely used. Me included. I had some adventures with Malaga IC SI and Smoked Plum INW and with some puddings, but i get tired of it too quickly and moved on with so many flavors. Hardly ever make the same recipe again.
Thank you, it is worth mentioning. As I read your reply I realized this could be useful in a Black Cavendish mix (of the fruity variety) Why didn’t I think of that before? Probably because of what you said, it’s so rarely used.
That is why I’ve chased SBs for years now but have never succeeded. I get moments where I can taste it but it quickly subsides. It’s frustrating but at least I now know it’s not just me who has to deal with this.
I d rather not have it at all then to have it and it goes away. Now i kniw what im missing. There has to be a scientific reason for this that can be cured. Genes dont change but if it can come and go it has to be fixable.
We need blooding study on flavor blind people vs not. Has to be a acitdity thing or something high or low in your blood that causes it
I can taste them sometimes but even then it is not a strawberry taste. I make my wife a strawberry banana that she has vaped for years, but I can’t claim that I ever tasted it. Adding citric acid helps a little with some.
I have a somewhat different issue with SBs; no matter what I throw in, they all just taste like… Rose Milk
Oh, interesting. I geta weird taste after using SB for a while (like 3 ml in MTL atty) so I wonder if that is similar… I originally thought I was SB Blind but I can sort of taste it when I first try a mix, but then goes weird on me.
This is like me.
I don’t actually like the taste of real strawberries by themselves but like them ok with sugar and cream/ice cream.
I have tried heaps of different strawberry concentrates over the years but have never been able to get something that was similar. Have also tried to replicate things like strawberry milk and SB taffy etc but can’t really get the same as them either.
I gave up a while ago and gave all my strawberries away…
