Oh that guy. Well I just leave him to his own thing. Though figuring out exactly when he changed from a job title to a personified entity is a fun challenge. We have the Wisdom of Solomon to thank for the idea that he was the snake.
More ahistorical Bulldust…ho hum
Some people have “gay-dar”… Well, I have, “fat-dar” and, “cerebral palsy-dar”
Because of that we now have the “word of G*d” which is worshiped and quite fastidiously at that.
I am not laughing at you but with you!! Though that isn’t one of the books I cluttered my brain space with but I feel the pain of it brother!!
They do love to take stuff out of context and add or skip certain verses, don’t they?
That is what happens. It happened to me though I’m no atheist. I did become liberal in my “theistic” scope but eventually stopped being theist altogether.
LOL, that has got to be one of the best insults I have heard lately!! I don’t think squirrelsmash is atheist but you could have been talking about the author.
probably a good idea.

I’m sorry to have missed this little debate but it usually degenerates rather quickly.
I would like to keep this discussion going or at least religious topics but I’m afraid we have derailed the post. Hopefully, @SquirrelSmash and @Ed133 will contribute still when I ask to have this moved to its own topic.
Is it possible @fidalgo_vapes to move this discussion to its own topic?
Well I am fine to have a textual discussion thread. As long as it is all about the text and doesn’t devolve into the personal.

I am quite happy to defend my faith in any forum without any need for a …‘safe space’
Maybe Jesus was gay the whole time and instead of saying “amen” he was saying “ahhhhh, men”???
Never work for just money or power. They won’t save your soul or help you sleep at night.

The safe space is for us non-believers… at least in my case and we aren’t trying to “defend” anything but merely debate with an open mind and heart, which most “christians” are incapable of doing.
Last time I derail this thread
Love the lord your/our G*d with all your heart, soul, and strength and your neighbor (oops) as you would yourself.

Love the lord your/our G*d
That’s twice you purposely withheld spelling God. What’s your reasoning?
The church of latter day saint’s has his computer tapped, I guess he must’ve pissed of Joel Osteen or something
While in seminary I corresponded with a Jewish student and he did that when writing. When I asked him he told me that not only is it a sign of respect but also (don’t quote me on this my memory is muddled) they don’t want to throw something away with his/her/it’s name on it.
I liked that and took up the practice and now it’s habit.

must’ve pissed of Joel Osteen or something
HAhaha guess what @anon44012888 I have pissed off Joel Osteen many times. He used to be youth pastor and I was a “youth leader” when his dad was the big wig and he was the youth pastor. We butted heads on many occasions…

If there were definitive proof of the existence (or otherwise) of a supernatural creator, the God/atheist ‘debate’ would have been settled already. It is an ongoing question which, from the ‘Christian’ point of view, relies for the most part on ‘faith’, and at that point further ‘debate’ becomes pointless (very, very difficult, to prove a negative). The driving need of some ‘atheists’ to persuade a person of faith that their ‘God’ doesn’t/cannot exist, has always perplexed me from the point of view that, I do not care a whit what the atheists beliefs are in regard to this issue, so why are atheists so obsessed with persuading me of the folly of my Christian faith? If there were a logical, rational, undisputed path to the truth then, as I said in the first sentence, the matter would long have been settled. I have no interest in evangelising the Christian faith, my view is firmly “…each to his own…”, it seems to be the atheists who are obsessed with us; possibly a reflection of the old addage "…misery loves company…‘’ perhaps?

Like God is going to get upset because a piece of paper with His name on it got thrown away? I’m pretty sure that’s not a blasphemous act, but whatever.
