Lol, any clue where that number lies? I love the color graphics on that shirt. I guess I’ll have to get one…just for the graphics, of course

It’s all relative @muth. My shuffling around dad refers to the complainers in his hood as ‘all the old people’. He’s 85. :joy:

Technically you can be old at any age if you take into account not only the body but also the mind, so separating the two aspects an eighty-five year old can very well be young; certainly he will not be able to win the hundred nets at the Olympics but he can still be able to carry out an infinite number of other activities.

Who knows… surely at that age I will be completely dazed!!!

My mom did the same thing at that age, too. She refused to move into a retirement community because she didn’t want to be surrounded by a bunch of old people.

Now on the serious side…

Faith, which at first glance may appear weak, is actually the most powerful force in the world. Many people put on a show of being strong, but true strength has nothing to do with appearances. On the contrary, we usually find that the weaker the individual, the greater their bravado or outward display of strength.

Unfortunately, the human being is a complex jumble of contradictions and often, almost always, prefers to adapt to what is considered “normal” or the most popular attitude. Being yourself, free from external conditioning, is complicated, arduous and often confused with madness, or in any case with some form of mental/relational discomfort. Those like me who have always suffered from this type of “generalized consideration”, even within the close family circle, understand how difficult it is to be truly yourself but above all wise.

It can be difficult to behave in a manner which is truly yours in this restricted society but if you believe in yourself (even if you keep it to yourself) I think you’ll be okay.

Thanks a lot @muth.
I’m happy to be here and although this is a specialized forum I find an open-mindedness and a moral closeness that is difficult to find elsewhere.

“There is nothing, then, that we must guard against more than following, like sheep, the flock that goes before us, leading us not where we ought to go, but where everyone else is going. And nothing brings upon us the worst evils so much as following the gossip of the people, believing that what is accepted by general consensus is the best, and that, since the examples we have are many, it is better to live not by reason, but by imitation.”

This is one of those I call bitter medicine. Well, I’ll speak for myself.

> It’s valuable to look for the strengths in others - you gain nothing by criticizing people’s imperfections. In fact, it is helpful to take a step back, for even a moment each day, and try to consider the feelings and positive qualities of others of whom you are critical.
