Ideas? Why. I’ve had hundreds of ideas. Thousands of ideas. None of which worked.
-Thomas Edison.
So, I stole some from Tesla.
In my not-so-humbe-opinion, that mans an ass! Wife comprehends this stuff, but all I know is that there are only a handful of states left that are retiree tax friendly,
California used to be “okay”, but now our taxes on retirement income has TRIPLED! We used to get breaks and discounts. Not anymore!
It’s more expensive to live here, than Hawaii! Ca. is THE most expensive state to live in. We’re looking at Eastern Tennessee, Missouri, and Kansas. Tennessee being our best bet.
With the equity we have in this house, we can buy a house there, with cash, and still walk away with 50K. That’ll save us $3,000/month. Dunno what currency you use, but that’s WELL over our net income!
What does all that have to do with Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla?
I don’t remember… Sorry.
“If we suspect that a man is lying, we should pretend to believe him; for then he becomes bold and assured, lies more vigorously, and is unmasked.”
― Arthur Schopenhauer
That sounds very familiar…I think I know someone like that ![]()
Has anyone else noticed the quote feature malfunctioning? The poster’s quote does not copy inside my reply. I have to go back and do it again in edit mode.
@muth it’s a function of the forum software, and is time based. It appears as if someone posts, and you quote and reply, sometimes the software THINKS it is too soon, and will “confuse” people (LOL), it removes the quote. IF however, more time has passed since the OG post which was quoted, it lets the quote slide.
I responded to this maybe an hour or two ago and my post disappeared ![]()

“I prefer liberty with danger than peace with slavery.”

“For all its material advantages, the sedentary life has left us edgy, unfulfilled. Even after 400 generations in villages and cities, we haven’t forgotten. The open road still softly calls, like a nearly forgotten song of childhood." -Carl Sagan
(maybe this explains why, after 20-something years, I’ve suddenly developed an almost instinctual urge to get another motorcycle)
Do it! Not only does it scratch your itch but it’s practical in this day and age of rising gas prices. I ponder getting a cargo ebike or etrike (with a pirate flag on it)
If you’re as vertically challenged as me, go see how well you sit on a Honda Rebel. That’s what I have an eye on. But first, I unfortunately don’t have a garage, so I need to get a carport built because I won’t have another bike always sitting in the rain.
Neither do I but I’ll still check out the Rebel, thx.
I like it! Wasn’t really looking for one but it’s tempting. The Fury is something but the Rebel 500 would be perfect for me I think. Below is the Fury.

Too heavy a beast for me just to putt around town, but at least it’s liquid cooled ![]()
For sure. I would never consider it, just admiring the look. I built a 2025 Rebel 500 on their site just for kicks. I didn’t include saddle bags but I would want/need them.
Don’t forget a kit to flip the mirrors down ![]()
