First liter of 100 mg nicotine

I just bought my first liter of 100 mg nicotine and I want to break it down into 2 oz bottles and freeze it. Freezer in a locked building away from the house and grand kids. I have been thinking about the best way to shake up the liter of nicotine and am considering using a blender that hopefully will hold the entire liter and giving it a good stir for about 5 minutes or so. So is it a good idea to use the blender for this stir or is there a better way. Concerned about hot spots mostly. Any insight on the process will be greatly appreciated.

You are going to introduce too much air using a blender. I would just recommend shaking the crap out the bottle.

First of all…is it PG or VG base?

A liter is a small, easily mixable amount, especially if you haven’t broken the factory seal.

I use VG base nic, buy it in 1 liter jugs, split it into 150ml bottles to freeze/use.

I use a small stew/stock pot, in the sink, and run hot water in it, and bathe my 1 liter jug.
I keep a close eye on the temperature, using a infrared thermometer [set in mode for objects, not for human temps],
and keep the temp below 105F.
I let the jug sit a few minutes, quickly dry it, and shake hell out of it, repeat, repeat, repeat, until I can set the jug down, and after it sits on the counter/drainboard for 30 seconds, it still reads above 90F

I open the seal and carefully, yet rapidly, pour it in my storage bottles. Cap well, put in ziplocks, let cool, freeze.

Good point which I had not thought of. Guess I will shake until my arms hurt then shake it some more. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

It is in a PG base as I thought that would mix easier when being shook up which appears to be the method of choice. Do you recommend warming with the PG base? But is is unopened at this point. Thanks for responding.

No need to warm. Room temp nic in pg is fine to shake. The vg is really hard to shake…hence the warming.

Also a blender will heat up the liquid (nic) over time (you can make warm soup out of cold veggies by blending)… and more parts to clean afterwards.

Yes, you can also warm the nic with PG base the same way, but…
if your room temperature is above 75F, it probably isn’t necessary.
Whatever you choose, just never let the temperature exceed 105-110F

With a PG base, there is ABSOLUTELY no need to stir in a blender,
and if you had VG base…you could with the right precautions, but
not my recommendation. If you did [VG], shake it, pour in fast,
cover asap, blend on low for up to one minute, bottle. But you
will have less assurance in mixabilty than heating in water, shaking, bottling.

Room temp for PG base…shake the shit out of it, flip the jug over,
shake the shit out of it, turn the jug over again, shake the shit out of it,
bottle it tightly, bag it, and freeze. A one liter jug is easy.

Perform your choice on a large clean flat (well lit!) surface where you can easily spot any loose dots of your nicotine which may occur during opening and re-bottling. WEAR GLOVES. Have some paper towels already on hand and dispose of carefully. Every DIYer should have a box of Nitrile (or other protective) rubber gloves to use while handling nicotine. Even with gloves wash your hands with soapy water after removal. Ozo’s best advice is putting your bottles inside ziplock bags before freezing.

Buy a large box of frozen Brussel Sprouts. Open carefully and dump them in the trash. Take the carefully opened box and put all your Nic to be frozen inside and then put it in the freezer …no Grandkids are going anywhere near that …probably no adults either …and this is the Jokey part  oh and wear gloves when handling Brussel Sprouts too …eeww

Much like @BoDarc stated… I transfer my (vg) nic into 120ml bottles from the liter I purchase. Then I mark each bottle with a sharpie. I then place the bottles into a gallon ziplock and place that bag into a box that goes into the deep freezer.

In a PG solution, after splitting it up you can safely place your (plastic) bottles in the freezer (standard temp) and it will still remain somewhat fluid (unlike water turning to ice).

For work-ability, I dilute the 100 mg nic in a 100% PG base to a 32mg nic in a 40/60 PG/VG solution of 700ml (which fits into a glass recycled 750ml bourbon/whiskey bottle leaving enough room to shake). Being the highest nicotine level I’ll ever reach is 12mg and generally more of my batches tend to be somewhere between 60% and 80% VG. If the recipe requires more extreme variation, then I revert back to using the 100mg nic.

This makes it easy once I adjust my recipes to start with 32mg nic 40/60 base and I don’t need to work with latex gloves after the initial dilution. The whiskey bottle is kept in the refrigerator and taken out several hours prior to mixing. After it warms up, it should shaken up before use, which for me mean pour it into a size closer to what I’ll need for 2 or 3 batches to make it easier.

Actually I do one more thing… I label all Nicotine repacked bottles and containers of bottles with a sticker I made. I made you an example. This is in NO way intended to fulfill any legal requirements, just enhance personal safety …and not have unmarked bottles of poison laying around. Also provides the toll-free Poison Control Center phone number (worst case scenario)

Mine has a large Skull/Crossbones and the word “Poison” in large letters. The first time my 7-yr old saw me mixing, he asked, “Why are you putting POISON in your medicine?!” Lol.

Nic has arrived and has been prepared for the freezer in 2 oz bottles after a long by hand shake. I was pleased how easy it was to do. This has been my first experience with 100 mg nic and I thank all of you for your wisdom and willingness to share your knowledge.
