I got Griffin on Friday. Itās definitely super easy to build and wick, but Iām getting crap flavor out of it. Might be my build: 24 guage Kanthal dual coil, 8 wraps, .4 ohms. Iāve run it between 50 and 95 wats and it just isnāt tasting great. Anyone here with Griffin experience have any tips?
make sure its good juice and maybe go a little lighter on the wicking material. also, did you clean the tank before building on it? did you clean your wire before you used it?
just the basics thereā¦other possibilities:
have you offered a sacrifice to your pagan gods? those guys/gals get REALLY upset.
have you angered any witches recently? they have a tendency to spoil things we enjoy.
are you being poisoned by spies looking to retaliate on you for your last 007 mission?

I use a 22g ti build on mine. Dual coil 2.5mm ID 7wraps comes out about 0.08 ohm. Best build Iāve used on the griffin for flavour. Also use 304ss fused claptons paralleled with 24g 304ss. Great flavour.
Anyone got the 25mm version yet?
i dont have that one yet, but i dod just order the Kepler Apache which is a 25mm tank
Iām torn on what to buy first. The griffin 25, aromamizer v2 or the new aromamizerā¦ Mmm.

Cleaned tank and wire, but I may be using too much cotton. That said, I could have been more specific describing the issue. The flavor isnāt bad, so ācrapā is not really what I meant. Itās just really weak. It reminds me of when I was first building on my Velocity and had the coils too low so they didnāt catch optimal airflow. I know airflow isnāt the issueā¦ so itās probably my build. Iām not a huge fan of temp control, but I do want to try 22 guage spaced coils. Has anyone used 22 guage spaced kanthal coils?
since my first spaced coils, i no longer use pinched coils. TC or Power mode, spaced coils for me. i find everything to be better. flavor, vapor, smoothness, juicing, wicking, everything. and using too much wick can definitely reduce flavor. you should try rayon also.

Awesome, good to know. Iāll definitely be trying rayon when my santa package comes in the mail! Iām going to my vape shop today to get some 22 guage wire for spaced coils, would you recommend SS or Kanthal?
SS all the way. my prefered SS: 316l, 317l and 430. i am able to find 22g in 316, 316l and 430. 317l i can only find 24g. also, i have 304SS in 22g and 24g but it just looks so dirty, so i havent built on it yet

I have 24g kanthal so I just made a spaced build. 7 wraps, 3mm ID, comes out to .3 ohms. It definitely makes for a denser, more flavorful vape. Itās like Iām vaping a difference juice almost. I canāt believe I never knew about spaced coils. Contact coils were what I learned and thatās all I ever used. Iām pretty stoked right now!

Once you go spaced, you never go back. If you have some really fine kanthal, like 30 or 32, I find a very easy flavor increase is to just twist up 4 strands and make it into a spaced coil. Resistance wise it is similar to 22ga, but I find the flavor to be night and day above solid 22ga.
@Whiterose0818 the generous may be getting me on the rayon too. The dry hits are way worse than hemp, but it does wick well. The jury is still out, but itās a far cry from standard Japanese cotton for sure.
