Flavour percentage Long Fill

Hi all,

I bought a Long Fill commercial juice. It is a 60ml bottle prefilled with 20ml (all?) aroma. Does this mean this Long Fill when topped up with base to 60ml contains about 33% flavouring? I always make my own liquid 70VG/30PG and stay around 15% flavouring as in general many think this already is a high percentage. Or do I see the 20ml flavouring percentage on 60ml total wrong?

Curious what you think greetings Robert

I also don’t understand the concept of longfills and wish I could advise you! I bought a 60ml longfill which was a part of a kit and it said it contained 30ml of flavour concentrate and it came with 3 x 10ml nic shots to make up the 60ml, but said the concentrate is in 50/50 ratio for the option I chose, does this make sense cos the flavour concentrates are suspended in pg, which makes me think that this is similar to your situation in that it isnt only concentrate and also contains some pg/vg base mix??They had various options to choose from depending on which nic level you wanted, pg/vg ratio and choice of freebase or salt nic. Maybe we are overthinking it!!

The 20ml that was already in the bottle tasted on it’s own to purely flavouring same as when I make my own liquid flavouring. It is steeping now for a while so will see how it vapes :grimacing::dash: and if it is something trying to clone. The Long Fill is from Brews Bros the Black Reserve (honey, cream, tobacco).

Ah see you live in Cornwall UK, love your country so nice and hope to visit it once again. I get my diy supplies always from Nom Nomz thats always ok. But I read in a post from you that UK is going to add tax in 2026? I live near the German border and they have taxed the supplies there, imagine this 100ml of only the base liquid costs there now 45 euro’s that is about 38 pounds

@RobertE I can’t believe the base mix has also been taxed there! It’s ridiculous. Over here the government have said the tax is to curb youth vaping to make it more expensive for them… the youngsters were never using diy liquids etc anyway! Purely a money grabber. And like over near you, the cost of vaping isnt going to be vastly different to cigarettes, which I think would put people off switching because I only gave up for financial reasons initially!
With the longfill I have tried only about 5 and although I added what was given and followed the guidance etc I actually found they all tasted over concentrated and wasnt pleasant so added some vg pg etc and this improved them. I also think when mine said shake and vape that wasn’t right cos I feel with steeping the flavours improved. Am sure you will enjoy your choice! Nice to meet you

And yes the tax is effective from October 2026. It has to be confirmed yet but was announced in the budget. They stated ÂŁ2.64 including vat per 10ml. No matter if nicotine free which is shocking. Not sure if this includes flavour concentrates however.

I’m looking at the product page and from what I can gather, the put 20ml of flavoring concentrate in a 60ml bottle for you to add your own vg/pg and nicotine the rest of the way. That’s kinda weird, never seen anything like that. I guess what they call “booster shots” are extra shots of flavoring. That’s a pretty strange way to sell e liquid though.

Yes 33.30% when I’ve bought those in the past I mix as a Max VG because with 33.3% pg based flavoring you’ll end up at about 33/67 pg/vg. Just enter the 33.3% in the flavoring and choose max VG the calculator will tell you how much nic and vg to add.

It could have up to 20ml of flavoring, (similar to a one shot) there may be 16.8% flavor (or whatever) and the rest will be pg to bring it up to 20% for ease of mixing (and ease of manufacturing)

From Brews Bros:

What is a 60ml Longfill?

Our Black Reserve Longfill contains 20ml of 50VG/50PG flavour concentrate. It contains no nicotine, but depending on which option you choose, you will be provided nicotine shots and/or booster shots. Once you’ve added your nicotine shots and booster shots, you will have 60ml of 50VG/50PG e liquid at the nicotine strength you chose.

This means (unless they are using some VG based concentrates) the maximum amount of flavoring is 10ml

It doesnt necessarily mean the total flavouring will be 33%, a lot of these companies that make long fills will often put the total flavouring in the bottle, then top it off to 20ml with just pg, some may also use vg to make the ratio 50/50 to begin with, its all supposed to make measurements & aquiring ratios easier for the end user, so they(the end user) can just top it off with nic-shots &/or base.

Thanks for all your comments. Maybe the best explanation is indeed the “make measurements & aquiring ratios easier for the end user” I did not think on that one. Seems the most logical explanation and the exact amount of flavouring in the 20ml stays a mystery. Thanks!

My understanding is that the 20ml is the flavour and PG. You only need to add VG and Nic.

Yes done that, now some time for steeping :+1:t2:
