Yeah, I figured there would be a few that weren’t familiar with the distinction, and that’s the main reason I mentioned it
Sadly, I forget the true point of origin, but I’m fairly sure it’s either USENET or gaming. Problem is I’ve been doing both for over 20 years now, so certain details have faded.
I got the G4 deck. The flavor is amazing. No leaking. I used Silica wick and got it just right on the first build with no tweeking. Did I say the flavor is amazing! The price is 15.99. Come on VapeNW. You should sell out of these quickly. Wish I could replace all of my tanks with this one… ya even the Aromamizers and the SMOK RDTA s.
I just got my new Labor Day Sale mod today, and she’s so purty, Really glad I got pink, or the hubby would have stolen it. He wants one now though, he likes the blue. If anyone sees a good deal anywhere please let me know. It’s the Fuchai, not the original.
The G4 deck looks tricky to build on, have you tried the G2 deck and if so how does it compare?
The Aromamizer is a very well built tank but I feel a little over rated for vape quality, I have a lot of tanks I prefer over the regular size Aromamizer and Lite as well.
The only one “confirmed” to do so, is the Hohm Wrecker G2 if I recall correctly (if not the G2, then definitely one in the Hohm products lineup.
All other brands are designed for SS/Ti/Ni, or some combination thereof.
No Kanthal in TC mode. (though it’s been reported anecdotally that some have had success)
Yes for stainless steel. No for kanthal. Temp control works from the resistance of your choice of wire changing as the temp of the coils changes. That’s why u lock ur resistance at first at room temp.
Kanthal resistance does not change at different temps so there is no way really to use temp control.
***I think I explained that right, if not plz chime in
Thanks for the feedback on the stainless steal. I guess I was asking bc all of they’re clapton wire has kanthal in it. The stainless steel is wrapped with kanthal and so is the nichrome. I didn’t see any that could be used in temp Control then
Lightning Vapes also carries SS claptoned wire (though the only one listed when I purchased was 26g/36g).
Not sure if they normally carry any other options for a 100% SS build or not, but pay close attention when you’re looking about in the drop down menu, as they do have hybrids as well (meaning ss core, with Kanthal wrap -which should be OK in TC mode, it’s just not going to taste as clean as a 100% SS build). If memory serves, it was @BoDarc that brought that to my attn previously!
LV has 24g,26g and 28g SS wrapped in 36g SS. They are listed near the top of the pull down menu. I mistakenly bought some 26ss/36k clapton and it works fine in SS mode on all of my TC devices. Remember you can take an additional 15% off using the coupon code LV15 at the checkout page.
mjag, I haven’t tried the G2 deck, but I believe it’s very similar to any common 2-post velocity style deck. I wanted something different, and I was told that 4 coils would give me more flavor than two. Recently when I went t a local vape store, they had the Hatrick tank on clearance. It has 4 coils like the G4 but it’s not an RBA and you must buy replacement coils for it.
The G4 deck is very easy to build. The way I approached it was to copy the prebuilt coils that came with it. I made the wire ends going in the opposite direction of each other and the correct length. Then you just stick the ends in the holes and tighten the screws. I’ve had good success using silica wick, and I still prefer it over cotton, Cotton Bacon or rayon. In fact, I hate rayon. Once it is wet, it turns into a blob of shit. If it gets compressed, it stays that way, and it breaks easily. It’s a ‘no go’ in my opinion. I put it in my ‘don’t want it’ pile. I like silica because I can fill up the juice flow holes and it won’t get over compacted and allows the juice to flow without any fuss or having to keep it fluffy.
for all you UK DIY’ers out there my bottle supplier has a new website now selling the best 30ml Glass bottles I’ve found so far, best droppers by far and a whole lot cheaper than any ebay deals I have seen.
I’ve been using and selling these for a while and can totally vouch for them.
