I just ate some fruit snacks and can see the cherry ,grape working well the only thing id do different is put a drop of lime or lemon in , but the lemon or lime would have to be minimal
A lot of gummie candies have some black currant mixed in somewhere!
Inw Cactus and or dragon fruits can really help some candies
Also like adding a little TFA berry mix, can really round off a mix candy (jelly bear or fish mix)
Also been trying a few with red liquorice
Im just looking for a new sweet candy mix found a few i like but still playing around at the moment.
The best thing I found yet was making a fruit base and then adding Sour Gummy candy -WF + gummy candy tfa and Black Cherry-Cheryl -FA.
Lots of folks can usually guess it on smell and then definitely off taste, (as a Candy King- Worms clone).
As many mightk now, sour gummy worms is a guilty pleasure of mine, and Iād be down for trying but for whatever reason, standard gummy worms, and ā¦yuck, Swedish fish. Itās like eating flavored pencil erasers haha
It strikes me funny this thread could be cross-posted to the candy making Forum. These were likely some of the earliest chemical flavorings ā¦and I mean from the 1800ās. Forest Mix is a trick of the senses and takes me back to eating Jawbeakers in the 60ās. By ātrickā I meanas a kid looking at the multi-colored layers, my brain tried to make sense out of the individual flavors in the mix, imagining each flavor coming forward to match the color at that instant. The challenge we contemplate today in Vape DIY. High Fives to @Plunderum for REposting some of Waltās (RealFlavors) secrets. I had these in my Notes ā¦great capture and share Brofessor
I have also said we likely cannot get an āauthenticā Cherry because itās some companyās Intellectual (Candy!) Property (Luden?) We can only get altered Cherry variants. Remember how good Chocolate Covered Cherries used to be? Not so good as competitor knock offs, eh? Canāt get the exact flavoring, I say. My point is these are Antique flavorings and have a History in real Candy Making.
Iāve mixed some candy Vapes but they typically seem to have alot of (hidden?) Sucralose and shorten wick life. This thread is making me want to get re-involved in some straight candy Vapes ā¦especially the Gummy angle. I recently picked some up. Most of the recipes I mix could be described as āsweetā, so itās not like Iām opposed. Thanks for the revival of this little Zombie Thread @Heavy_handed
Was the cherry / grape secret for RFSC or does every grape and cherry have the same properties that can create this profileā¦
Just came to the end of this thread wondering the same thing; did you give any a try? Iām doing some mixing tomorrow so I might have a go. Iāll let you know if thereās anything positive to report
The cherry / grape trick ??? I have not tried any yet ⦠But if you find something please report back
I couldnāt say, but the 50/50 blend was tasty. I didnāt really get a texture i could describe.
27 Bears (CAPSL) ā¦nice gummy to me
So I mixed INW Grape 2% and FA Black cherry 1.25% (wasnāt my original intention to use 2% grape but in a 10ml it was difficult to measure with slow scales!).
SnV lick test seems promising. Iāll give it 24 hours and try some in a test vape.
To follow up, a 24 hour steep produced a strong cherry flavour and not much gummy. I left it for a further 10 days and tasted it again today. The two fruits are much better balanced and itās gummy-ish and not too sweet. Not one Iād vape on its own butā¦
As I was doing some single flavour testing with various watermelons I thought Iād try adding some CAP sweet watermelon @ 4% as it was already candy-ish. And straightaway I have a really juicy, mouthwatering pink fruity jelly gummy flavour. A very nice light summery vape which I will make more of if we ever get any summer in the UK
Edit: when I say jelly I mean what some call jello, not jam
Black Cherry (FA) is the prom queen of flavors, especially above 1%. She wants no other flavor tasted except her. Tone down to .5%-ish, but I never got a gummy taste, ā¦bubblegum taste sure, but not a gummy worms taste. Itās weird because I use this in a gummy worms recipe, and it helps, but itsā¦not directly towards the gummy flavor, just like⦠the candy aspect of it
