I’m feeling pretty thankful for my ELR family today. Not only because I won a mod @anon60225325 and @Whiterose0818 but because this group of human beings is awesome.
It’s been really hard the last two weeks watching people take sides about things so I’m going to just throw out a request to the Universe:
Dear Universe,
I know Thanksgiving is Hallmark Holiday and people watch a lot of Football but that’s ok because it’s an excuse to sit around and eat a lot of food.
We are really imperfect sentient beings in this sphere of understanding. We see things the way we do for a hundred different reasons. We don’t always agree and you know we never will. I’m not sure about what or who God is but I know Love is powerful. I know it’s a lot more powerful than hate. I’m not going to ever agree with one of my brother in laws and he’s not ever going to agree with me.
For this one day I ask you to remind me we all were born on this earth, we all came here the same way and we are all going to die on this beautiful blue planet one way or the other. We have more in common than we have differences so I ask for some loving energy. Thank you Universe. Thanks for letting me be here to participate in this mess of what I am in my imperfections.
I love you guys on this site. You have meant more to me than I can tell you.
Thank you all for being you!
Love,
Maureenie
See you guys in a couple days, I have to go clean the house and cook for my brother in law. HA!
I was just saying in PM to a friend that I think this is a holiday that could be shared worldwide. Even though “as legend has it” it’s an “American” holiday…what it’s morphed into: sharing our feelings on what we appreciate/are thankful for with one another around a good meal, could be used by more than just our country.
People everywhere would do well to stop the hustle and bustle of this crazy world every once in a while, and celebrate the good fortune(s) that you have had. It’s the “little” things that keep us going! We need more of this everywhere (myself included) to offset the mind-numbing insanity that we’re constantly being bombarded by, in all the various forms.
From my house/family to yours: Thank you for being a special part of my days, and my life-experience. It’s helped brighten things many times over.
