Harsh eliquid

Hello guys, will smooth by tpa work if a recipe is harsh? Some cinnamon and some fruit recipes are quite harsh to me

I usually use a marshmallow to round and smooth things out, or even a whipped cream like TPA. I’ve never used smooth, but marshmallow works for me.

The best “Smooth” there is letting your mix sit and steep. What makes most recipes harsh is aged nicotine and not flavor’s. Keep a eye on the color of the nic being put into your mixes. Should be light pink to clear.

true but some flavors like TPA peach have linalool and cinnamon can have cinnamaldehyde. both are known dermal irritants.

only choice is to avoid those i doubt TPA smooth would help with those
@palamakis can you be specific about which flavor / manufactuer your talking about?

there are usually safe alternatives

@palamakis yes that is what flavors like TPA Smooth and FA Wizard do, they smooth out the flavor of an e-liquid. Typically with citrus fruits, tobaccos and spice flavors like cinnamon. They are typically used in very small increments 1 drop per 10ml of juice because they can and likely will mute other flavors.
Other flavors like Marshmallow or even a cream can also help in softening/smoothing the edges of some recipes, but should also be used conservatively as they also can tend to cause muting if used too high. I have found that if you know what flavor is causing the harshness (say its Cinnamon) to try lowering the % of that flavor to cut back the harshness.
Other causes for harshness can be the high usage or even sensitivity to PG by some people. If you are getting harshness from your e-liquid with a mix around 70/30 or lower (like 60/40,50/50) then try using a higher 80/20 VG/PG or even a max VG base to tame harshness.

well i made a Lemon tart with juicy lemon 1% and lemon sicily at 3% and it was very harsh

Typically those two flavors will not create a harsh flavor. If you could share what recipe that you are mixing then we could tell you what could be causing the harshness.

You can try adding just a little bit of Pear FA, the flavor of this aroma is very light, and I personally often use it to blend and soften other fruits.

Nicotine should be perfectly clear, at least the pharmaceutical grade we use in vaping, or at most a barely perceptible yellow (you can tell by observing it continuously for several minutes, or if you have eagle eyesight). If it’s slightly pink, then there’s already a slight oxidation process; even worse is if it turns pink, fuchsia, noticeable yellow, or straw-colored: in these cases, avoid using it. If the color becomes predominant or even dark, it should be disposed of immediately, and any inhalation should be avoided at all costs.

pink nicotine is totally fine, its caused by nitrogen gas which is used to prevent oxidation. argon can also be used and dosent cause a color change

even yellow dosent have to be bad as there is different extraction processes.

i would go by smell and taste not sight

The smell is definitely the best indicator!

For the rest, it’s good to know.

I apologize if some of what I’ve written may be inaccurate, but I didn’t consider that here in IT we have particularly strict legislation regarding nicotine.
First of all, the only liquid nicotine sold to the public, solely for vaping purposes, must have the same organoleptic characteristics as that used in certain medical and hospital therapies (here it is exclusively completely transparent). In fact, it’s standard practice for us to store this product at low temperatures precisely to prevent potential oxidation.
We cannot purchase it abroad, and even here, only from physical stores with a specific license issued by a government agency. Any purchase of nicotine online, or abroad, is considered a smuggling offense and, above a certain quantity, is punishable by imprisonment.

That said, my previous post obviously took into account a very restrictive case of this component issue, so I apologize again for the inappropriate content.

I’ll move on and close!
