I just got a bottle and was wondering if anyone here could give me some advice re: starting %.
Thanks!
I just got a bottle and was wondering if anyone here could give me some advice re: starting %.
Thanks!
There’s only one single flavor recommendation so I’d go by the % used in recipes. Somewhere around 5% looks like it would be a good starting point.
Oh thanks, didn’t know that tool existed!
It’s handy! On the calculator side, click user, then flavor list, and you can look up all of your flavors and create a “stash” if you haven’t already.
Just make sure you use the most common flavor (the one with the highest number of recipes) if there are more than one version of the flavor listed.
Some HS tobaccos require a higher percent in the mix to get it to “speak” to you. For me, this is one of those concentrates. 7% in the mix was where I landed.
Not to poo-poo this cig-a-like flavor, but, as you can see from doing a lookup on this concentrate in the flavor files, not many folks are throwing down published recipes. YMMV
I had it in my stash 'cause I was trying to help an individual come up with a “Marlboro” type vape. I used it with 1.5% INW DNB and it was somewhat a cig-a-like, but just didn’t hit the mark for me. However, the INW DNB did more to push it towards a true tobacco vape.
Thanks for the tips. I’m trying to make a cig-ish vape for my cousin who is trying to quit cowboy killers. My first batch is going to be a mix of the Red Mix and FA Shade and 7 Leaves Ultimate. Fingers crossed! I’ll try 7% to start. I’m hoping to replicate a recipe Lars published a while back with a red tobacco flavor I can’t seem to find. Hopefully this one works!
Good luck on your quest!
Just FYI, for me, the (FA?) 7 Leaves can be a bit floral right out of the gate, especially at too high a percent… easy does it with that one. I wish I had learned about the INW DNB a lot sooner than I did… for someone coming off real cig tobacco, it does help provide that true ashy note on the exhale.
The FA Shade is a nice fresh tobacco leaf kinda flavor; it will be a good one to have for the mix.
Good to know, and thanks again. This is the recipe I’m going to be testing out:
Do you think 2% is too high for 7 Leaves? Thanks again for all the help!
Nope. That should be perfect for that mix.
