Over a year ago I was diagnosed with COPD, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and a hardening and partial blockage in my main abdominal artery. My cardiologist was going to place a stint in the artery, but told me that if I would quit smoking and start watching my diet we would check it in 6 months and then decide about the stint. When I went back he was absolutely thrilled with the tests and commended me on quitting smoking because he knew how difficult it was. I told him I was vaping and his comment was ā€œVAPE ON!ā€ lol. Funny from a little Egyptian lmao. He claimed that while the best case is just breathing clean air, vaping was a wonderful choice vs tobacco cigs. I feel better, I can breathe, and I havenā€™t had pneumonia for almost 2 years now as opposed to having it twice a year before. Iā€™m not in perfect shape as COPD doesnā€™t go away and Iā€™m on meds for it, but I havenā€™t felt this well in 20 years thanks to vaping.

Like so many others I read about. Diagnosed with COPD many years ago but still sucked down 2 to 3 packs of Marlboro Red and later on Roll Your Own full flavor everyday. December 2014 started vaping full time February 2015 quit smoking cigarettes completely. I have been to several Doctor appointments now and my lungs are doing much better. I have to go every 3 months for a check up and any medication refills and every 6 months for blood work and review. To date my breathing meds have been cut back by at least 70% and my blood pressure meds by 50%.

My Dr. has said this " I would rather you not do either but Vaping is in my opinion much less harmful from what I have seen with you. So keep doing what you are doing"

I was a chain smoker and I am still a chain vaper but with the new VTC Mini I just got I can now keep track of my puffā€™s per day and I am going to start working on that now.
December 2014 I started at 18mg nic and I am currently down to 0nic on all juice except one Tobacco flavor I keep at 3mg nic for when I feel the need for a quick shot of nicotine.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I have not had to go to the Dr. for bronchitis since I quit smoking which is something I went for at least 2 to 3 times a year before.

Started in January and have had one sinus infection, right when it got cold and started keeping windows closed. I havenā€™t went a year, in about 6 years , with out 4 sinus infections that turned to whole upper respiratory problems. Iā€™d say I owe It to vaping. Shortly after the switch I could lay down and take a DEEP inhale, no wheezing no coughing

Six months after I quit smoking with the help of an ecig my health started a down hill spiral. There have been a lot of questions as to why this has happened but little in the way of solid answers. My vape has been questioned & tested up one side and down the other then re-tested even though I DIY my own liquids. The many specialist involved in my care have concluded the vape has nothing to do with whatā€™s happening to me. Kidneys are failing, stage 4 now, severe edema, Iā€™ve had a bout of CHF but fortunately after they got the water off there was no permanent damage to my heart. Nerve pain stemming from the edema and 4 disk now placing pressure on the spinal cord have put in a wheelchair as Iā€™m not a surgical candidate Taking 240 mg. Lasix daily Iā€™ve taken 80lbs. water weight off, doc thinks thereā€™s another 50 lbs still to come off! But my lungs are clear with oxygen level at 99%; their so sure itā€™s not the cause they allow me to vape while hospitalized!
Some have even asked for the recipe of liquids they liked the smell of!

The reason I started vaping was due to a couple cardiologists after I had a hear attack 2 years ago. They both suggested to give up my 2 packs of smokes a day and start vaping. Best choice Iā€™ve made in a while.

I have been through 43 surgeries (none tobacco related!) and the last time I was in the hospital when the guy came around with the breathing thing to measure oxygen intake (?) I had quit smoking and was vaping
I almost sucked the machine out of his handsā€¦he said ā€œI think youre okā€ ha!
