First Impression

Due to the fact that I already own the HCigar Hb40 ( DNa40) this mod feels oddly familiar In its size and hand feel. The difference of course being the chipset (no tc) , power capability(50 watts) , and the firing button placement. So already I felt right at home with it .

Styling

The box is all aluminum alloy which makes it feel sturdy and has been anodized with a matte black finish which seems to hold up alright to scratches ( I baby things though ) . At first I hated that the battery cover was held together with screws but after I installed the battery and closed it up I appreciated how firm it feels which I found was a problem with the hb40 that had magnets which would slide a bit and cause some rattle.

I have to say that I just love this big chunky firing button! It depresses so smooth and feels so good . It’s not clicky like we generally see with other mods but is very responsive and quiet.

Like the HB40 the edges of this box are a little sharp for my liking but not so much that it ruins it ,just would have been better if they were rounded off a bit .
The screen placement is on the front of the box which I think looks good and is about a 3/4’’ long x 1/2’’ high which makes the numbers big enough to read easily . The glass for the screen however is much larger to give the box the illusion that the screen is much bigger for aesthetics I’m guessing .
The 510 is brass and has a stiff adjustable spring loaded copper centre pin that doesn’t sit quite flush to the mod to protect the finish I’m sure . It also has kind of a well around it in case your atomizer leaks so that it doesn’t seep into the box itself .
Also on the side of the mod at bottom is a usb charging port which is a plus for those that don’t want to unscrew the back every time to charge the battery.
In earlier versions of this mod HCigar had put more logos on the side and back of the mod but have omitted them on this model which I think was a smart move . It does however have a small HCigar logo on the front right corner which is perfectly acceptable and doesn’t steal from the overall beautiful finish of the mod.
Also the internals are very clean and free of glue and the bottom of he box has adequate venting ( heaven forbid)

Performance

This was my first experience with the Yihi sx300 chip and I have not been disappointed . The gravity sensor takes a bit of getting used to and at first felt gimmicky but after a few days was actually quite nice .
The operation is quite simple , you lock the device with three clicks of the firing button ( repeat to unlock) then 5 clicks to change the wattage which you do by tilting the device right or left depending on what’s desired. When your finished one click will bring you to a exit screen which requires another tilt , one more click will bring you to a system shut down screen that will say " byebye " if you do shut it off .
There is absolutely no delay in firing this mod , it hits with all the power it should at specific wattages from 7-50 watts.
Battery life wasn’t bad or good probably average for a single 18650 mod . Vaping my Arctic tank .2 ohm at 50 watts ( regular vaping ) the battery lasted about a half a day before having to plug it in ( btw usb charger works just fine ) . Vaping my Taifun GT v2 at 18 watts 1.2 ohm it lasted me all day and then some .

Pros

1: Quality
2: Yihi chip works flawlessly
3: Firing button is fantastic

Cons

1: Sharp edges of box not very comfortable
2: Raised 510 so nothing sits flush ( not ocd friendly)
3: Screwed on battery cover ( I don’t mind but others will)

Conclusion

In all fairness there are probably smaller and cheaper 50 watt devices with better battery life ( istick 50) but this thing is built to last and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality made 50 watt regulated vw mod that won’t auto fire and burn your house down lol . It isn’t the newest mod on the block either but I don’t think that really matters and actually is probably a good thing given the fact that HCigar made some adjustments as per suggestions of early adopters.
