Help a newbie choose a recipe pls

Hi everyone. I’m new here and new to mixing. I’m in Australia, the land of laws, and switched from disposables a couple of months ago.
I’ve only tried a few single flavour mixes and one recipe which I’ve quite enjoyed;

I’ve fiddled around with the flavour percentages, while keeping ratios the same, and I’ve ended up mixing it at 10% total flavour rather than 20% and I’m very happy with it. I’ve made a few batches of this recipe now.

Well I have finally got a bunch more flavours but now the sheer volume of recipes I can make is overwhelming me lol. Can any of the kind people here help me decide what couple of recipes I should try next?

Here is my stash - I know it’s all TPA rn. That just felt like a good flavourhouse to start with. I will be branching out. Edit: wherever I have a DX flavour I don’t actually own the original, I’ve just selected them to help for recipe searches.

I’d love to try making something with the FA Cola I got, and I’d love a fruity recipe that really leans into berries. Lastly my wife has requested something “caramel and creamy but not fruity.”

Does anyone have any good recipes to suggest? Even if it’s nothing like what I asked for but it’s just really tasty and you think I should try it.
Thanks in advance. This forum is such a big help.

Welcome! Nothing wrong with TFA/TPA, same with Capella and FW. They make some good stuff. And especially with what we can can actually get down here, perfectly cromulent decision.

If you’re not already, I’d recommend Universal Flavours and Taste Nest for good prices, range, and shipping time. Taste Nest stocks a bunch of stuff that UF doesn’t (SSA, BCF, Flavour Jungle/Jungle Flavor, Flavour Express) but UF has a larger selection overall…

You could try and copy the dispo flavours you liked the most to get an idea of how make your own instead of giving yourself choice paralysis, it can be pretty overwhelming.

Smash some Cherry Crush and FA Cola together with a bit of Koolada for a simple cherry cola, you could play around with this Fizzy Kush Clone that @stickynigel put together recently (I’ve got an adaption myself I’m working on, it’s an interesting idea) and just in general for fruits - The Fruit Bible.

As for the misso, simple caramel (banana?) cheesecake, last months mix-along Soo much dessert in here will help steer you along, or at least give you a rough guide

Thanks @Dios i have been ordering from UF, hadn’t discovered TN in my searching. So that’s exciting to see those other brands available.

The problem I had with disposables was I loved the nicotine but was never really a fan of the flavours. They are all way too strong, or too icy, or so acidic that they literally give me heartburn. Every week my tobacconist would laugh at me trying to choose the flavour I hated least out of what they had available

It’s been really nice to mix my own at more sensible percentages. No headaches either!

I did see the cheesecake mix along, but seeing as how we’ve been vaping the same banana cheesecake recipe for a month now I was looking to get those dessert type flavours in another way if possible?

Totally spaced on the recipe you linked lol
Grab VBIC and maybe a TF4 for a caramel ice cream? I’ve only just started getting into the dessert side of things so someone else will have a better idea than I do. But I think of the dessert side as like Bakery, Custard, and Creams. ie cheesecake/donut/smores type stuff, or custard base fruits, or ice cream/cream fruit/choc/caramel, and base ideas around that.

The Mocca Coffee from SSA and Coffee Candy from BCF are both really interesting flavours too, I think they’ve got a wide range of applications either as drink or dessert.

I think this is part of the reason fruits are the easy starting point, realistically you can just throw things together and see what works, but once the creams and custards come out you have to have a bit of a better understanding of how they work

Welcome to the Forum

Looking at your stash and I’d suggest trying FA Cola @4-5% with TPA Caramel @.5 to enhance the cola, then add FW Cherry Crush @3.5, or even mix the cola
with one or more of your berry flavors. I can see the cola working really well with TPA Blackberry in place of the Cherry Crush.

Caramel (TPA) 0.50
Cherry Crush (FW) 3.50
Cola (USA Pleasure) (FA) 5.00

One of my favorite recipes with FA Cola is Jack and Coke
Jack and Coke
Bourbon (TPA) 1.50
Brown Sugar (TPA) 0.75
Cola (USA Pleasure) (FA) 3.50
Koolada (TPA) 0.25
Kentucky Bourbon (TPA) 2.50
Lime Tahiti (Distilled) (FA) 0.50

You got the right stuff, maybe try a simple Caramel Cream for the lady.
Bavarian Cream (TPA) 2.25
Caramel (Original) (TPA) 3.00
Caramel (TPA) 0.50
French Vanilla Deluxe (TPA) 1.75
Marshmallow (TPA) 0.50
Sweet Cream (TPA) 1.00

Thanks for all those suggestions @McDuckie, I’ll give that Cola idea a go for sure. The blackberry could be real nice. Maybe a little touch of vanilla crème with it?

I’ll be trying the caramel (or SSA dulce de leche anyway) in my next cherry cola, that’s a brilliant idea.

Oh definitely I’ve been looking at trying a Dirty BlackBerry Dr Pepper using FW Dr. Soda, TPA BlackBerry and either TPA Vanilla Swirl or FLV Sweet Coconut. Maybe a touch of both.

Yes caramel or dulce se leche is a nice addition to a cola as it adds a slight creamy brown sugar note to a cola type profile.

I definitely think that’s missing from most of the colas I’ve tried, they all seem to trend too citrusy for my liking

I’ve got a cola recipe and a bit of a bakery recipe worked out after a lot of reading through recipes and the help of everyone here. I’m still kind of stumped on where to start with a berry mix.
Was thinking of using the two TPA blueberries I have but was wondering what else I should pair with them? I’m going to try the blackberry in my Cola like @McDuckie suggested so I was going to avoid adding that to this mix. I’ve read banana makes blueberries pop at low levels? Would dragonfruit add something maybe?
Any suggestions for a good berry(blue primarily) mix from my stash?

got a little secret to tell you export your stash to your phone which will download into files on your phone

download chat gpt and import that stash file on chat gpt and tell mr chat gpt your nic and vg/pg ratios and the size of the bottle you will use and tell it to fire you some recipes your be amazed at it’s response

with the nic tell it like this for example ‘‘i have 72mg nic in 100ml bottle pg and would like the final mix to be 2mg in 30ml bottle with a vg of 70 and pg of 30’’

then ask what you should add to make a nice berry ejuice mix and it will tell you which flavours to get

it also can tell you the difference between v1 and v2 flavour concentrates you may come across

go for some 10ml testers or 30ml

once your happy remake it again in 100ml bottles and enjoy

I’m asking for humans to share the recipes they love with me. No need to get the electricity and water guzzling bots involved.

When mixing a new recipe I’ll add the VG/Pg first and the first ingredient, shake and taste on back of hand, then add second ingredient 1% at a time, shaking and tasting as I go. By doing this you can balance the flavours and make sure you’re not adding too much or too little flavour.
You could maybe try
Blueberry wild 4%
Blueberry extra 3%
Strawberry ripe 3%
Raspberry 1.5%
Dragon fruit 1.5%
French vanilla creme 1.5
Or maybe
Sweet cream 1%.
Should make a decent mixed fruit with a little creaminess in the background.
Add a little “koolada” if you like cooling.
Then play around with the percentages until you have something you really like.
You can push the blueberries higher if needed as there not that strong.

Hey thanks @Dj35
That is looking along the kind of lines I was thinking for percentages. But the red berries backing up the blueberries wasn’t really on my radar. I think that could be pretty cool.

I’ve seen a lot of people mention tasting off the back of your knuckle. Is it an accurate representation of the vaped flavour? Or just a good representation of how the flavours will taste together?

It gives a good idea on how they will vape although some change a little during steeping but a better idea on how they will interact and taste together.
I sometimes add a drop of flavour too a spoon with a little soya milk to test it and it vapes very much the same.

i think this depends on the person
i have many flavors that i cant taste in a vape like strawberry or are terrible in a vape like FW cherry crush for example

but they are perfectly good in a drink like sprite

I got that FW Cherry Crush in my first order because I read somewhere online that it’s a really good cherry flavour.
When I smelt it I was so excited.
When I vaped it I was left disappointed with a dry throat

I finally got around to mixing a test batch of new juice. I went with your suggestion @McDuckie and ended up mixing;
4.5% FA Cola
2% TPA Blackberry
0.5% Koolada

It’s pretty tasty. Will up the Cola and Koolada a bit next time. Thanks again for the advice.
