Help Needed: Crafting a Classic Coffee E-Liquid for MTL

Hey guys,

I need some help dialing in a coffee e-liquid for a friend. She’s using a Vaporesso Xros 4 Mini, and the goal is to create something that tastes like a proper cup of coffee—nothing fancy or overly sweet, just a good ol’ cup of joe.

Now, I’m not new to mixing, but I am new to mixing specifically for MTL devices. I’ve been experimenting, but it’s been a challenge:

  • Coffee (TFA) and Coffee Base (VT) at 2%, then pushed to 3%. It’s okay, but the coffee flavor still feels weak.
  • She suggested adding Butterscotch for smoothness, and I thought about trying Brown Sugar to add depth, but I’m wary of turning it into a dessert vape.

I’m aiming for bold and rich, without it going bitter, burnt, or overly sweet.

Any advice from the MTL pros?

  • Are there better coffee concentrates for an MTL setup?
  • Any tips on balancing coffee flavors to avoid the pitfalls?

Let’s brew up something special here—because everyone deserves a perfect coffee vape! :coffee:

If you want to impress her, then get Espresso VSO or Nomz coffees and it will all be easy.

I’m not sure about MTL mixes but my favorite combo is:
Coffee Liqueur VTA
Cappuccino SC
Milk and Honey FLV
2:1:1

If it needed a boost for mtl I would bump up both the coffee’s but not the Milk N Honey…
(I’ve run the Coffee Liqueur as high as 6%, but that’s where it starts to turn to liqueur)

Coffee’s are so subjective so I can only reference what suits my taste, this version is my current ADV for the last 3 years:

Hey OG for MTL you typically want recipes that are really heavy on flavor yet simple recipes. 3-4 flavors max. As most MTL setups have very restrictive airflow due to the use of higher ohm coils (.8-1.2). Though with today’s improved flavors going to 20-30% isn’t necessarily. You could try a simple creamy coffee like this. Golden Joe

Arabica Coffee (VTA) 2.25 the base coffee it’s just a rich black coffee.

Caffe Latte (VTA) 5.25 brings more coffee notes is more of a coffee with light cream. Plus it has a high break point. I’ve gone as high as 10 and it still tastes good.

Coffee Base (VTA) 1.50 creates a heavier mouthfeel and pulls the other two together.

It’s the base for my ADV of Vanilla Latte which I vape in a pod with a .6ohm coil at 25W.

Total of 9% in a 50/50 base or 60/40 base.
All three flavors available @ Kings Flavors UK

Thanks guys.

I am aiming for a black coffee. Something dark and rich.
I remembered the time I did a coffee ceremony in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The coffee was strong as anything but it still had a hint of sweetness, even though no sugar was added. I tried to replicate that flavour and came up with this.

It is a 25mg Salt Nic for MTL. I used the coffee concentrates I already own. I don’t want to buy more concentrates, as I am not going to vape this myself.
