Help. What do you use to you store your flavors?

oh my gosh, I am going through my drawers and alphabetizing my flavor houses…1400+ flavors, I have done, ssa, fa, mf, vt, pur, inw, and just finished cappella. I’m only working on two flavors houses a day. It’s too much lol I should have done this years ago. My mind is tired after this haha I wish I had wall. space…

1,400 flavors?! Nya, nya! I have… Drum roll, @SessionDrummer …36!

Fun fact about the human tongue. It can detect only 5 basic flavors and the middle tastes different flavors than the sides.

How-some-ever. When you put an orange gastrique on a Peking duck, Your taste buds be like, “there’s gonna be a party tonight, a party tonight, I know!” And when it’s almost gone, their singing, “There’s gonna be a heart ache tonight…!”

Indeed, but I was on a flavor review show for 2.5 years so we had a new profiles every week and new flavor releases. So I acquired a lot.

Good grief, woman. I’ve been in the computer industry for some 40+ years. WTF is Noted DX with 648? DIY, or die? I don’t know Jack about that.

I’m retired, got nothing better to do than to make a spreadsheet for you. We have options.

  1. Do you have Microsoft Excel? If so, I can whip you up something in no time. All you’d have to do is fill in the blanks. If not, I have 5 licenses, of which I’m only using 3, so I’d be happy to give you one. While, it’s VERY feature rich, it’s simple to use, especially if you need only fill in the blanks, and save file as file, (name) to a location in Documents. (On Windows). I LOVE to teach! Apple Mac? I can still help. Same app, just different way to tell Excel where to save the file.

If you have MS Word, you probably have Excel, but if it intimidates you, I can do it in Word. Just as easy for you.

  1. What version of Windows are you running? I can help you find out. Microsoft USED to have a free app called wordpad that’d work, but they got rid of it on Windows 11 recent revisions.

  2. MS still supports Notepad. Slightly more difficult for me, but for you it’d still be fill in the blanks. I don’t mind that it’s a pain in the ass, as I have nothing better to do.

  3. There are several FREE alternatives to MS office (Word, Excel…etc) that are compatible with MS Office such as Libreoffice. Save a spreadsheet in Libreoffice and it’ll open in MS office just fine.

  4. I don’t give a rats ass what you have or need, I can help! Get it? Got it? Good! PLEASE give a classic antique something to do! Other than claiming to be of the Silent Generation, writing 400 page books about absolutely NOTHING anyone reads!

Die or die is a YouTube channel, and Noted and Noted dx were podcast style flavor review shows once a week. I meant before I started that show I only heard 648 concentrates.

Unfortunately I’m running an Apple piece of crap, So I’d have to look at what options for Microsoft I have. That’s why I said I’d need help…if I ran windows I’d be all set. I thought @SessionDrummer used another program to keep track of his concentrates. I’ll open my laptop and see what my options are. Thank you!

@Lynda_Marie I kind of use Hot Rod’s Juice Calc and a spreadsheet. Hot Rod’s updates in real time, and the spreadsheet makes ordering sooo much easier.

Yeah, yeah, off topic. Only by 90% though.

One of my great grand daughters came out to visit us here in Ca. from Il. every summer. I had made some chicken stock from scratch and getting ready to make it into a broth for some sauce. Adding salt. Takes a LOT. Kid says, “I don’t like salt.”

“Wanna bet?” Took some stock from the pot, poured some in a juice glass, she drank it and I asked what it tasted like.

Look of consternation, and tells me, nothing. Kinda not good.

Added some salt, gave it back and told her to try again. She says, “Oh. I’m Cassandra Adams, and I approve of this salt!” 13 years old.
