(To first add some quick context, my first hope was to make a nice, fresh creamy “Cookies and Cream” , with the primary flavour being a fresh, vanilla cream/ice cream of sorts, with a slight (or hint) of like oreo cookie. Every time I have tried to make this e-liquid it turns out nothing like I wanted. It tastes way too much like cookie, way too sweet, not creamy or fresh enough, and frankly quite harsh/peppery. I want it to be an ADV.)
My friend’s dad when I was younger had this Cookies & Cream type of flavour that I tasted and it was absolutely unbelievable, that is what I am trying to recreate. Sadly he does not remember the brand or where he got it, but he said it may have been facebook marketplace so frankly not much luck there.
But any recipes would be appreciated very much.

Just looking for some good recipes/ideas for recipes if anyone has any experience with these flavours that I have it would be much appreciated. I have tried making several, and nothing really tastes very nice sadly, I think I’m doing something wrong… Struggling to find rated recipes that other’s have made that contain solely the current flavour concentrates I have. I measure using scales. I have a daily vape I use which is a Vaporesso Armour GS with a 0.15ohm coil. I also have a Vaperz Cloud Hammer of God 400 Box Mod + Vaperz Cloud Valkyrie XL RTA with dual 3.0mm 5 wrap 3 core aliens (0.11ohms). Not sure if any of that information is relevant to what I’m asking, but decided to include it anyway. Thanks for reading.
Update: I’ve found a simple recipe that I do like the look of… But it has an ingredient that I don’t have on hand… (Vanilla Custard) I know people don’t like answering questions about substituting ingredients, but does anyone have any ideas of what I could substitute it with, given my stash? Maybe a small amount of Just Juice Brutal Rhubarb & Custard ? I’m not too sure. I also don’t have Water/Vodka/PGA. But I suppose I could just make it 50/50 to negate that.
@0day.rev welcome to ELR. As far as THAT particular recipe, you should really just pick up CAP VC, if you want to mix IT up. You can sub any custard in, but, it’s NOT going to be the same.

In reference to that simple recipe, since I didn’t have VC, I mixed up 2 seperate recipe’s that I thought would be nice. Mixed and steeped for a week, and both taste okay but are frankly very harsh and peppery, chemically almost.

These were the recipes I came up with, I think I’ll just pick up some CAP VC and see how it is with that addition instead…
It’s brand new mate. Purchased salicylic salt nicotine (100% VG) from nicotinehub.co.uk. I made a recipe using rhubarb, raspberry sherbet, vanilla ice cream, marshmallow, french vanilla & vienna cream with the same amount of salt nic juice and it tasted amazing, didn’t have that peppery dry throat hit. But I didn’t write down that recipe unfortunately so would have to recreate it.
I know that a lot of people can get pepper from TPA’s VIC, but I haven’t. I tested CAP’s, and did not get pepper from it, BUT, I may be pepper tolerant …
I get the TPA peppery taste but don’t get it from Cap VBIC. I’ve only ever used it as high as 3,5% though and this recipe is 5% so maybe I would also taste pepper at that level
Thanks, it’s salicylic salt nicotine. I do have 100mg freebase in the freezer which I was planning on neutralizing myself using salicylic acid.
The presence of the salicylic acid neutralizing the pH of the freebase nicotine should take away that peppery, harsh throat hit completely, salicylic known to give the smoothest throat hit closest to smoking cigarettes.
I started by buying commercial salt nic vape liquid like “Hayati Pro Max Nic Salts” and “Elux Nic Salts” which effectively mimic the flavour, throat hit and intensity of their disposable vapes extremely well. When starting out, I did initially want to make my flavours as close as possible to their feel, throat hit & absolute flavour bomb intensity. That’s essentially why I use these Salicylic salt nicotine instead of raw freebase, because I wanted the throat hit to be as close to possible to those little 10ml bottles I was/am used to.
I’ll follow up on what @warkwarth advised, and if that turns out to also be the culprit for me too, I will also order some Cap VBIC along with the Vanilla Custard, and see if it works better for me. But it does deviate from the original intended recipe which is unfortunate. Maybe I’ll adjust to it over time ?
On another note, I do have Vanilla Ice Cream (Flavour Art), French Vanilla (Cap), Vienna Cream and Vanilla by Atmos Labs (which I heard is arguably the best/most genuine Vanilla flavouring), so once I learn how to single flavour test there is definitely some room for experimentation & figuring out the best possible combination, at least for my palate.

I feel for the people that get pepper from TFA vbic man because it really is a fantastic rich vanilla ice cream, i really like the vanilla in there too.
SSA ice cream vanilla is another really nice one that apparently doesnt give pepper to the pepper tasters ? Its hard to say which one i actually prefer with these 2 though because they are both really good.
Nice name RicklePick haha, can I ask, is the peppery taste something that you can adapt to over time of just smoking it, until you dont even feel or taste it anymore, or is it just “some taste/feel it, whereas some don’t and not much can be done about it”?
Because for me the peppery taste in liquids is like harsh in a way that makes the liquid not pleasant to smoke, chemically on the throat (almost like a dry burn) hard to explain. Even if the flavour was incredible, I wouldn’t like to smoke it, because every one or two hits it makes me feel like I need to take a drink of water.
Honestly, im not entirely sure because i dont get the pepper taste from any of them?
I think its just a sensitivity &/or some sort of wierd chemistry going on in certain peoples bodies? Like the chemicals/nutrients/vitamins (whatever the correct term is,lol), in some people must react with whatever compounds are in some of those vanillas/ice creams? I dont think theres a lot you can do about it tbh? Its not something i have extensively researched though really because i like to be able to test things myself but, with something like this i cant test anything.
I think its the same kinda deal for people that cant taste some strawberries etc? Its jist something i see the majority of people working around/subbing flavours etc more than anything else.
I think the pepper taste does die down after a while steeping with some people but i imagine it juat depends on how servere the “sensitivity” is? Something only the individual can test.
