Hi guys! I have recently upgraded my mod to the ipv4s and crown and gave my wife my old cool fire 4 and subtank plus she prefers mtl vaping so I bought her some 1.2 ohm occ heads (vertical) they arrived yesterday and so I primed it put it in worked fine for about 3-4 hours and all of a sudden burned so I changed it thinking it was a dud coil and same again worked fine for 3-4 hours then burned vaping at 15w this tank has been a disaster from the start so many problems with it I originally had the isub tank using the 0.5 coils and she was mtl on that the coil still lasted weeks an I doing something wrong or should I buy her another isub as I still have coils for that thanks
On the side of the coils if you are in a well lighted room look at the side of the coil and it should say what ohm it runs and the recommended wattage used on that coil
I have it runs between 10-20w so I thought I would put it in the middle I’m going to change this one and get her to run it at 10w and see how it goes
That’s odd, if that doesn’t work I would recommend a new or better tank. Check out direct vapor They have some awesome prices and fast shipping
Ok thank you I think I’m going to get her another isub as we never had a problem with that
Hey no problem, I would also recommend maybe an atlantis but I don’t know if you want sub ohm or not
I would get her a crown I love mine but she hates the clouds I blow And only thinking isub as I have coils left over are the Atlantis a good mtl tank ?
I had the atlantis but I got the TFV4 and I loved it. Best tank ive ever owned without a doubt. I actually still use mine for a daily vape
She has no problem with a sub ohm tank as long as she can mtl and I bought her 2 pro tanks last week as that’s what we used to vape and now they don’t work for her as she is now used to the sub ohm tanks
Thanks I will look in to the Atlantis would you recommend the tfv4 for me?
A popular tank with the MTL people around here is the nautilus mini.
If the coils are tasting burnt, I’d suggest turning down the watts to see if that makes a difference. Especially if your wife is chain vaping on it. If they’re just slightly singed, turning down the watts and vaping a bit may clear the coil up and you won’t really notice anymore. If the cotton got super burnt, though, the taste might not go away. Does the cool fire have an ohm reader? If so, what are the ohms reading as? If not, try testing it on the ipv4s just to make sure the coils are what they say they are. If the coil burned out and won’t vape anymore and this is the second one you’ve tried, I’d think it was a bad pack of coils and I’d talk to the place you got them from.
I have a subtank mini that I’ve used a lot, but I started SL hitting as soon as I got it. I do have some of the 1.2 vertical coils, but they don’t really work for me since the draw is too tight. Good luck! I hope you find something your wife really likes and works for both of you!
If you have a high watt battery and don’t mind blowing through fluid the tfv4 is awesome lol
Thanks @JoJo I have emailed the vendor about it just waiting for a reply the cool fire 4 does have an ohm reader it reads 1.29 on there I will put it on mine and double check it I’m sure I can find a tank for her
@Rudy3 I have ipv4s 120w is that ok I don’t mind blowing through juice as I make my own
I got a feeling it’s not wicking properly. I’ve had problems with the Kanger OCC coils before. I’ve taken a needle and pushed through the side of the coil channels into the cotton to allow juice to flow better. That’s 1 thing. Another is the PG/VG ratio. In the winter when it’s cooler, higher vg liquids just get thicker. So wicking naturally will be slower.
TVC has a good video (very basic info) on what causes dry hits.
This dude shows his fix for the OCC coils.
Yes 120 watts is plently, I am running the triple coils right now (.2 ohm) at 60 watts and I don’t think it could get any better. The triple coils can be ran up to 130 watts with no dry hit
Turn down? She is vaping at 15 watts if I understood correctly.
