My pharmacists are production workers. Akin to McDonnalds. They get the right pills in the right bottles and get the count correct and move to the next order to fill. A cashier runs the register and enters new orders into the system. Corporate dispensary.
Good for him!
I have a colleague who started vaping, sheâs 50, and it wasnât 2 months and she was diagnosed with lung cancer, luckily it was treatable. I am also sure she knew that something was going on, hence quitting smoking and trying vaping.
What did the doctor / lung / cancer specialist tell her? âVaping causes water in the lungs.â
Oh my⊠Idiots grow on trees, medical and rocket science degrees or not.
Well good for her, she did a cold turkey on both, and sheâs in remission for now. Strong girl.
I just wish these doctors can think a bit about what they are telling their patients. Sure we need more studies, sure there are flavours that could be harmful, sure there are allergies to certain parts (I for one canât use PG over 20%), but do they kill in the same way as a cigarette? Is it not as safe as aspirin you get over the counter? Are we going to ban peanuts because there are cases of people having severe reactions to it?
I guess we have to look at the health industry, and what vaping does to it. Less sick people means less medicine and less medical attention would be required. So I am not sure they are doing it consciously, but they are protecting their profession.
I go to the Pain Clinic every 2 weeks. I get what I call my âChristmas Treeâ of injections for my back. There is much more but the point is, they were thrilled that I quit smoking and started to vape. Their only concern was the safety aspect as everyone gets to hear about the accidents with batteries. My blood pressure was perfect last time I was in. I basically taught them all the differences between smoking and vaping. Cigarettes are all about Burning a product. With vaping, the last thing you want to do is âburnâ something. Teach the difference when you can. Education is the only way we learn. Peace out.
Iâm right there with ya on the Pain Doc and the myriad of cervical and lumbar spinal injections⊠and I was already a vaper for a number of years before I started with my current doc 3 years ago, but he and his whole office staff are fascinated, and regularly ask me for questions and referrals for their die-hard smoker patients. I think its like anything elseâŠyouâll always have people who are open to new concepts and ideas, and truly want to move things in a positive direction, and on flip side, youâve got (usually a much larger percentage) of people who are fear-mongers and totally threatened by anything that could mean real change. And personally, I truly do believe at highest levels there is a concerted effort to demonize vaping because of the very real impact on recurring medical costs and big tobacco. This damn world seems to be run by the lobby dollar, these days⊠and sadly, big pharma and big tobacco are the worst of the lot, and they are what we have to contend with.
Hi @Terry_Gupton,
Just wanted to say Gâday and welcome you here thank you for posting and I hope your well thanks.
Hi @Krayfish404, well saidđđ» I just wanted to welcome you and thank you for posting take care ay!
First post ever, There are plans to be put forth by the NHS to help smokers quit by giving them an coupon allowance to spend on monthly e-liquid. If the NHS is advocating vaping over smoking as its widely accepted that its less dangerous then your pharmacist is simply an a*s hole

Greetings and Welcome to mix.
Yes, the Royal something or other for Mid Wives in Britain just came out in favour of vaping over smoking. They would prefer a woman vape over cigarettes totally.
My best explanation for people is:
Itâs just like your electric clothes dryer. The heater removes the moisture from the clothing (mostly cotton) and exhausts it outsides. Remind them that your clothes dryer doesnât burn anything.
Again, welcome .
As a newbie, I missed your reply. Duh.
Thanks for talking back. When people ask me about vaping I explain it like this:
Think of your electric clothes dryer. The moisture is being pulled out of your cotton jeans through a heater and exhausted outside as moisture. The only difference is we pull the vapour VS a motor pushing it. A clothes dryer never burns anything.
I find this helps to explain and educate people on the beauty of vaping.
@Bruce8 Your âclothes dryerâ explanation is brilliant in its simplicity.
@HouseofPain Iâll definitely check out that video⊠and is it just me, or does that 60 Mins chick bear a serious resemblance to Olivia Newton John? lol
