What you’re seeing is correct, there is only one contact at the bottom of the dual battery carrier. That one contact reads the voltage coming from the contacts on the hinged door. There are two contact points at the top of the carrier.
My dual is like yours and is working fine with only the one contact. Your original problems sounds like a board issue to me. I’d try flashing the firmware and see what happens.

yes. pretty simple, just download and follow the instructions. Hope that works.

also, make sure there isn’t any gunk i your 510 connector. I’ve seen some buildup that will mess with your ohm readings a bit.
