No, I don’t know that. But anecdotal evidence from a friend says that in her hospital many covid complications hit double vaccinated people as hard as unvaccinated. She works in the lab.
Yes, I heard that, too so I rather wait and see.
Well, I have lost 3 people to covid in the past 2 weeks. Buried a relative this past week. Two of the people were unvaccinated healthy people. My uncle had other health issues and caught covid we think in the rehabilitation center. He was vaccinated but couldn’t survive the onslaught of covid. Doctors said damage to his lungs was so bad it would have taken months if ever before he could go home. I think it is pretty clear…those with the vaccine may get sick but generally are much less like to end up in the hospital or icu. Here are the number of hospitalizations of vaccinated vs unvaccinated and those on life support for Charlotte,
Nc as of five days ago. You choose for you.
Yet there are other studies that show natural immunity only protects against the variant caught and not the new ones such as delta.
I am so sorry for your losses.
Thank you. My uncle wasn’t well to begin with so it is understandable. The others could have easily been avoided with the vaccine. It is just sad.
I just to address some of the post above about the vaccine not being tested on humans first…FALSE.
Everyone has to decide for themselves and then take the responsibility for that decision. You do you, I will do me. But let’s at least try to get the facts right. Tik tok and youtube videos don’t count as reliable sources. Neither do fox news, cnn, or q-anon. I tend to look at the medical journals and studies before some nit twists them to suit their political leanings.
@scifoc I’m very sorry to hear that, and DO appreciate your candor.
If you don’t mind, I don’t recognize that graphic, where did you get that from ?
So you can certainly point me to the studies with long term results, and the history of successfully approved mrna vaccinations?
I don’t want to annoy you but I’m a bit lost on the chain of evidence. As far as I can judge the situation, no mrna vaccine has ever made it through the approval process. Not sure about the vector vaccines.
I think I’ll take my chances and avoid it for now and hopefully forever.
OK, whew, hehe. I did read (and I WILL find the source and cite), that there HAD been trials, but I had heard it was on children, and animals, with the most recent being ferrets I believe. I will check …
it was testing on at least 10k people before release.
Oh, well fairly recently yes, and as mentioned above, only in the short term, or for immediate effect. I would like to back up what I stated above, rather than just sloppy post. Let me dig around and see what I can find.
Long term results? Of course not this is a new vaccine based on years of study. it went through expedited clinical trials. It is the first mrna and the first approved that I know of at this point. The point is the post said no human trials and that is false. As is the part of of the animal trials and the disastrous results. Completely unrelated vaccine as far as I know. As I have said, you do you. Hope you don’t need it. The two folks I know who were absolutely against it made it clear they wished they had before they died.

@scifoc I’m very sorry to hear that, and DO appreciate your candor.

There you go.

Fair enough @scifoc.

The two folks I know who were absolutely against it made it clear they wished they had before they died.
Although we may disagree on things from time to time @scifoc, powerful, first hand, accounts, cannot be cast aside. I appreciate you taking the time to post up. I’m glad you did. Thank you.

I didn’t know that we are disagreeing. I think the vaccine is a personal choice and I am not forcing my beliefs on anyone else. That being said, I do have issues with all the false information that is floating around. People really need to educate themselves and not jump on what some politician says or the latest youtuber says is right. Avoid the fringe news on both sides and go straight to the source. I do know that the heart break and tragedy I’ve seen could have been avoided. It is very sad for all involved.
