Wow @ghoti1, I hope we (over on this side of the pond) can start to exhibit THAT kind of smartness in the near future.

I know that the “Bump and Buy” IS a real thing. If I even come NEAR a display of flavors, mods, tanks, if I even bump INTO them, I buy them. It’s real !!!

Yeah you’re right @SmilingOgre. And we’ll all be wearing the same happy, feel-good sunny yellow uniforms to go with our feel-good sunny dispositions  God forbid anyone deviates from the norm. Kinda scary to think it might be a reality one day but a possibility nevertheless.

Reminds me about the Australian government wanting to ban cash transactions over $10,000. Anyone looking forward to getting trapped in the banking system and having negative interest rates (they’re coming) where you pay the banks for the privilege of giving them your hard earned dollars? Sheesh!

I should go and watch a movie to take my mind off it. Yeah, might watch “V for Vendetta”…

I remember being stuck in Alberta South of Calgary (roads closed due to in-climate weather) for 5 days and having to purchase a pack of Canadian smokes. Not only were they expensive but I didn’t get the hit I was looking for either.

what is a “ram raid”?

You ram your car through a shopwindow or another vulnerable spot and grab whatever you can.

About all these bans, I came across some internet chatter about it and some comments are absolutely hilarious, albeit not very helpful IMO.

Personally I’d rather have these people join the other side :sunglasses:
He forgot to mention that there already is socialism in the US (and elsewhere), profits fall under capitalism, loss under socialism. You only have to go back to 2008 to verify that. We all had to chip in to save the poor banks

true, they have been pushing socialism for years. Why do you think this new generation believes they are “entitled”?

OH.

I don’t know if these prices are still correct (March 2019) but this should be the price of a packet of Marlboro in Europe

I wonder if the countries with low cigarette prices have a correspondingly lower rate of people who vape? Hmmm…

Wrong. It has much more in common with fascism (the merger of state and corporate power) than with socialism or communism.

That’s why I thought the comment was hilarious, it wasn’t mine

My uncle told me a story once. In the early 70s he joined the air force. Durring his training they had to run a lot. The instructors would let you take a break to smoke a cigarette. If you didn’t smoke you’d have to keep on running. So he started smoking. He’s had emphysema for the past couple of years now. But that’s when or how he started smoking cigs.

You put up a compelling argument @anon28032772. I’ll have to give this some serious thought
