Okay, I have a very dumb question. For some reason, I can’t seem to figure it out even though I worked in a lab for years doing these kinds of calculations. Guess it ain’t like riding a bicycle, which you never forget.
Anyhoo, I bought a 100 mL bottle of 6 mg ejuice (30/70 pg/vg) because that’s the highest they had. I’d like to bump it up to 12 mg. I have a 100mg nic solution in pg and a 250mg nic solution in vg.
What would be the best way to do this. I don’t mind readjusting the pg/vg ratio if I have to. Anywhere from 50/50 to 30/70 pg/vg is okay with me.
oh, and the other thing that complicates matter is that i know that adding nicotine solution to it will dilute the flavor so i figured i should just make a similarly flavored ejuice at a particularly strong nic concentration and add it to the commercial ejuice. it’s Skweezed Iced Lychee. i have Flavorah Lychee and Capella Sweet Lychee as well as 10% Koolada and 30% WS-23 on hand. i know i can’t replicate the same exact flavor but i suppose i can make it close enough that it won’t destroy my commercial juice’s flavor.
I looked in another posted topic similar to this one but I’m still scratching my head and it’s starting to hurt.
Adding 6ml of 100 mg/ml nic will get you to the 12mg strength …yes the VG / PG ration will change and the flavor might also…I tried POG from naked 100 once and all they had was 6mg strnth the liquid was so sweet cutting it in half didnt change much
Make a little XLS file (or google drive or whatever excel clone)
The formulas for the grey areas are shown, just enter your e-liquid volume and strength, same for your nic base and it’ll show you the resulting % (C10)
Play a little with the nic base volume and it’ll show the resulting nic % on the fly.
Update: If you work by weight, you’re going to have to add the volume/weight conversion with tthe specific gravity of your nic base (VG? PG? mix?). Check your packaging, measure or use an estimate but your volume remains the same.
I would not do this. Yes, your final juice will be a little bit diluted but it’s still going to be nice to vape. If you’re going to add your own flavors to the mix, you risk doing much more damage.
Usually bottles that need extra nicotine allow for that, so either buy ready-made nic juice or shortfills to avoid this. With a shortfill, it expects to reach X volume, so with high strength nic, you probably also need to add additional PG and VG. In Europe, they’re usually measured off to use 18mg/ml nic boosters.
thanks so much everyone. this really helps. although, i still can’t visualize it. aaarghh! like, i can visualize that if i add 1 mL of a 12 mg/mL nic solution to 1 mL of a 6mg/mL nic solution the 12 + 6 = 18 mg divided by 1 + 1 = 2 mL would come out to 18/2 = 9 mg/mL. but with the 100mg/mL, 6 and 12 and whatever, i just can’t. i lose it. LOL. but at least i have a number that i can work with. thanks! i’ll have to study the table and formulas until a light bulb turns on in my head
