Alright folks, it’s been way too long since I’ve been able to do a review about an Innokin product, but today I will ramble about not one, but two Innokin products!
Most of the popular reviewers have their reviews up already, and I’m probably going to repeat a bit of what they’ve said but I’ll try to give a you a bit of a different angle.

Premise.
I’ve been vaping for a good while now, and I’ve had so much gear pass through my hands that all brands sort of started being… meh.
One brand however has always stuck with me, because it was the brand of the mod that kept me from smoking.
My first “serious” mod was an Innokin MVP2.0 topped with an Aspire Nautilus, like many of you have probably had (or still have).
Unsurprisingly so, my MVP2.0 is still being used daily by my brother who I’ve been trying to convince of quitting smoking.
It still works flawlessly, and it still looks as new as the day I got it eventhough he uses it at work and it gets knocked around a lot.
After a while with different mods and different brands, I returned to Innokin with the MVP20W which I won in a contest and that one still serves as my backup powerbank to this day.
Again, it still looks and functions as if it were new. Not a single scratch on it, not a single failure.
What I’m trying to say here is the quality of Innokin products has always been somewhat higher than the rest.
With that said I remember the day I decided to quit smoking and pick up vaping.
I had to do my own research in a country that doesn’t seem to know its ass from its elbow, and I felt so damn lost in the myriad of mods and batteries and atties and coils and resistance and WHAT THE FUCK SHOULD I BUY?
That was before I found the pool of knowledge that is /r/electronic_cigarette and shortly thereafter /r/ecr_eu (which I moderate, stop by and have a chat! We don’t bite… much!).
Eventually I ended up with a decent starterkit, but these days I think it’s even harder for someone to find a good setup to start vaping.
Not because you have to research what to buy, but because there’s just so much choice out there that it gets nearly impossible to choose.
I’m going to help out (or complicate things even further)… I’m going to tell you about what I feel is a perfect, high quality starterkit.
Innokin Disrupter & InnokinCell

Packaging.
The Innokin Disrupter and InnokinCell come in separate white cardboard boxes with a transparent plastic window, which are then stuck into another white box.
When you pop both boxes out, you’ll notice another small white box inside which contains the well-known iTazte USB charging cable.
The packaging lists the specifications of the devices, some branding and all the needed warnings.
The Apex however comes in a stylish black cardboard box, with a shiny silver iSub Apex logo. Again a transparent plastic window allows you to see the product.
On the back is a bit of text about the Apex and how it was developed.
The package includes two 0.5ohm coils, the tank and two driptips (a stainless steel and a glass).

The Disrupter and InnokinCell D50.
Performance.
The Disrupter/InnokinCell combo is a perfect mod to start vaping in my opinion.
It’s a userfriendly solution to the most common problems new vapers are facing.
When you buy a mod like the Subox for example, you’ll also need one or two high-drain batteries, and perhaps an external charger.
The Disrupter is simpler in that regard, the InnokinCell just charges via USB and you don’t have to worry about chargers and whether or not the battery is compatible with your mod.
In fact the InnokinCell is about the same capacity as a Sony VTC4, one of the more popular 18650 batteries out there.
No need to research whether or not the battery is compatible, no need to find a good charger. It’s made for each other, and it just works.
Considering most new vapers will not need a ridiculous poweroutput, the Disrupter is a well balanced choice.
At 50W you’ll be able to vape most tanks on the market, with the exception of a few.
Which brings me to the iSub Apex…
The Apex was developed to be a simple to use tank that provides you with a full flavor, due to its Prism+ Flavor Boost Technology.
What’s Prism+? Well, you’ll need to ask Innokin how they managed to push a tank to such a full, pure flavor.
But they did, the Apex is onbe of the few tanks I’ve tried so far that has such a pure, crisp flavor. And trust me, that’s saying a lot.
It’s partially due to the way the airflow is built. While on most tanks the airflow is sitting at the bottom, to provide ample cooling to the coils, the Apex has its airflow above the tank section.
The air gets drawn from the top, down to the bottom and then up again into the tank, making it as leakproof as possible.
This results in a slightly cooler vape, which also boosts the flavor more.
The tank is both beautiful as it is functional, and the topfill allows you to fill the tank on the go without spilling any juice.
It’s as simple as just turning the part above the airflow ring, and squeezing some liquid in there.
The coils are equally easy to replace, just unscrew the bottom half of the tank and slide in a new coil.
No fiddling around with wire, wicks or decks, just slide it in and you’re good to go.
Delving a little deeper into the performance of the iSub Apex tank is a bit of a rabbithole.
There’s a lot to say about this tank, and a lot has already been said by myself and other reviewers.
The airflow is built in such a way that it provides a lot of flavor, together with tasty, dense vapor.
The coils used in the Apex are the same coils that the other iSub tank uses, which come in 0.5ohm, 0.2ohm and 2.0ohm.
Included in the packaging are two 0.5ohm coils which should last you about a month, or longer.
Now, I hear you say "I’m not a new vaper, and I love this combo too!"
Well of course you do! I’ve been vaping for a good while and have about 20 mods sitting here, and I love the Disrupter/Apex combo too!
Why wouldn’t I? It’s an excellent setup for on-the-road, or simply for flavorchasing.
It does produce decent vapor, but its main attraction is the flavor. It’s easy to use in comparison with some other mods, and it feels like high quality.
Delving a little deeper into the functionality of the Disrupter, you’ll find that the buttons are very tactile and very comfortable.
The mod turns on by pressing the fire button three times, which then shows the (very bright) display with batterystatus, wattage, and resistance.
One thing I don’t like about the Disrupter is the lack of a locking function, though this is easily fixed by clicking the powerbutton three times to turn off the device.
Changing the poweroutput is a little different from some mods, you’ll have to hold the up or down button for two seconds and then adjust your wattage in 0.5W increments.
Pressing both at the same time will show you the puff counter, which resets when you turn off the mod.
If you press and hold the firebutton and down button at the same time, the mod will switch into voltage mode, which can be adjusted in 0.1V increments.
To go back to power mode, press and hold the firebutton and up button.
The InnokinCell is equally easy, it has a USB charge port on the back, which has a tiny little button above it which will show you the status of the charge.
That’s it, vaping can really be that simple.
Aesthetics.
Being able to buy 7 different colors of battery and 3 colors of mod means you can customise to your hearts content.
The Disrupter and InnokinCell form a nice whole mod, which feels very comfortable to hold.
It’s not the smallest one out there but it’s easy to hold and pocket regardless, which makes it ideal to take to work for example.
Especially because you can charge it via USB. 
Combined with the Apex, it looks as a great boxmod setup made to last.
With all the exotic looking boxmods out there, sometimes it feels nice to have something a bit simpler that is still customisable.

In conclusion.
Whether you’re a new vaper looking for a decent futureproof setup, or you’re an advanced vaper looking for a flavorful carry-around setup, the Innokin Disrupter and iSub Apex combo is a good choice.
The mod looks and feels like a decent boxmod, the tank looks great on it. It’s a combo I didn’t expect to garner this much love from me, but it just works.
The simplicity works in this case, it’s easy to use but has all the functionality you need. With the Disrupter TC on the way, temperature control will be thrown into the mix but the batteries will be the same.
Which means you will still not have to worry about the batteries!
As with everything on the current market you get what you pay for and Innokin products have always cost a bit more, but you get high quality stuff that will last much longer. Is it worth the price? Hell yes!
