I love music from all genres. And I love reading and hearing stories about the greats out there. And I know there are some of you that probably know things not in the mainstream media. Keep it short and sweet
Did you know that Vince Gill was approached by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits in 1989 and Mark asked Vince to join Dire Straits? Just think how that could have changed things!
I did not know that. What a strange combination that would be lol
In a similar vein as that one. Mick Jagger asked Rory Gallager to join the stones as lead guitarist but he declined the offer because he seen himself as more than just a lead player, he thought of himself as a front man.
Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath was briefly in Jethro Tull
Interesting musical tidbit: did you know that Semisonic’s song Closing Time is about birth? I just found that out recently and when you listen to the song with that in mind it’s pretty cute (and a little tear-jerk-y if you’re a sappy mom like me).
Well that threw me for a loop. One of my favorite songs with a whole new meaning. It changes the emotional connection to the song - very cool.
Right?! I like it even more now.
“this room won’t be open till your brothers or your sisters come” Pretty clever.
Been smilin’ since I read it.
