Personally, I love mine. I’m a lower power vaper, and it works well for me. I opened the juice holes on the RBA a little, and rarely get a dry hit.
Maybe this is old news, but I saw Kanger did an update to it, and it now has a top fill feature. Huge improvement in my book. For those interested, here’s a review on the whole kit. If you’re not interested in the mod, the tank review starts at about the 9:00 minute point.
I grabbed one of the top fill tanks from FT and I like it. It only works on the authentic base. It’s a little finicky in the way most top fill tanks are. You have to close the airflow when you fill, but that’s not possible with the authentic base. I fill it up while holding the air holes tight, lightly put on the cap, turn it upside down and tighten the cap, fire it a couple of times before turning it right side up. That usually keeps it from running out of the air holes, but I get some drips from the tip. Like I said, finicky. Also possible (read: probable) I’m doing it wrong…
I’ve heard that about the FT top fill accessory. I’ve tried to think of a reason why it would do that, but can’t come up with anything, since I haven’t tried one. There’s another review out there, where he mentions a card in the box, that says to replace the top quickly (or something to that effect) after filling. In the review above, he specifically mentions something like 10 days with no leaks.
I’m going to keep an eye on it, and see what the feedback is, after it’s been in use by the public.
The other thing they changed were the OCC coils. They’re round now, and not square. The review above said the square style will still work. That’s a non issue for me, I use the RBA exclusively in mine. I did get a pack of the OCC coils just in case, when I bough mine, but never used them. I hate having to buy coils. I do have a little stash of coils for the Nautilus Mini though. I’m a MTL hitter, and I love the taste on the little Nautilus Mini. It’s always a pleasure to use that.
I loved my Kangers when I first started vaping. It was the first tank I bought new along with the eLeaf 30w mod pictured here
Shortly after acquiring it I learned to build Staggered-Fused Clapton coils and I managed to stuff one into the small space between the posts. I did have to enlarge the area under the screw with a file just a bit to get this to fit in there. But it was well worth it considering everyone that vaped on it was blown away at how good the vape was.
I have one of the FT top fill subtanks with a v2 base and a v2 rba deck. I get no leaks when filling it with a dropper. I find the trick is to get a lot of cotton in the coil (scottish roll-ish) and getting a good amount of it to cover the juice holes and press tightly up against the deck cap walls. Works for me every time and it’s still one of my favorite tanks.
