Lots of new toys, brief review

Hey guys…being I am just burting with opinions on all the new equipment I have purchased lately, I decided to put together a quick review for the benefit of folks who are shopping for MODS and sub ohm tanks at the moment.

I had only recently upgraded from my Eleaf iJust2 (I had two of them) to an Eleaf iStick 100w (non TC). This was a big step for me and since I had such a good experience with the iJust 2’s I decided to stay loyal to the brand.

The Eleaf iStick 100w (non TC) is just a workhorse. It isn’t fancy or pretty but the I smoke the SHIT out of that thing and have for months now and it has yet to do anything but keep putting out big clouds. The price is right on this bad buy…I have seen it as cheap as around 25 bucks. It is a quality build with nice strong magnetic battery door (pinched my finger the first time…it grabs THAT hard). Now since it is my first box MOD I know I am looking at it with rosey colored lenses, but, if you are looking for a good company making a good, reliable device and you’re on a budget…I implore you to check this one out.

After using the iStick for a few month I decided another step was in order. I went ahead and took the plunge and purchased the Wismec Reuleaux RX200. I had heard such great things and had even tested it myself in a local vape shop.I found it ata great price $39.99 and went for it. HOLY SHIT I love this bad boy. I have never gone over 100w in vaping and…lemme tell ya. The heat and strength and FLAVOR of the hits are almost overwhelming at first. I still don’t go oer 140 or so…
This sturdy little 3 battery Cloud Maker is BAD TO THE BONE. After 2 weeks of binge smoking all the flavors I had made last month (nice 4 weeks in the Curing Cave) I have grown to love this device. The way it fits in your hand becomes a big deal. Now my iStick feels clunky in my hand.
I did break with my Eleaf loyalty on this one but I did not realize that Eleaf has JUST come out with a 3 battery, 200w similar shape MOD. It’s ok though. That one is next

Now in the last few weeks I have also gone on a tear buyijng sub ohm tanks. I now have the Aspire Triton v1 (unusable, leaky piece of shit), The HorizonTech Arctic which is a nice, extremely simple tank. It is an older design though, and the bottom fill is a pain in the ass to me. I think it represents what was as far as sub ohm tanks go, but it is good quality and HT should be proud of it as a stepping stone. I then went out and bought the Horizon Tech Arctic TURBO v-8. This mofo ROCKS. When it’s on my 200w Wismec…I am putting out clouds the size of Texas. Great flavor. Great quality. Beautifully simple top fill design. No hinges or whatever…just unscrew the top and pour. I have sen this one on sale a lot…I highly recommend grabbing one. At first I thought the tank was going to be too small and that this V8 coil was going to just chug liquid…but I was wrong. This bad boy sips its juice nicely! Which brings me to one of my last purchases: The SMOK TFV4 sub ohm tank (also comes with rebuildable deck). This bastard does NOT sip nicely. He drinks like a drunken sailor on a rum bender. When I first got the TFV4 I was really bummed because it leaked as bad as the Triton v1. In one of these awesome threads though i got a solution. The original glass in a lot of them that ships installed on the tank is a little too long…causing a misfit. I was advised to use the replacement glass that comes with it and…VIOLA!!! This guy can change the weather with his clouds when mounted on my Wismec. The tank is decent sized but at the rate the sextuplet coil guzzles juice they should have gone much bigger…I think.

Now last but not least…I returned to my favorite company: Eleaf…for a tank I didn’t even really want but the price was just insanely low… I picked up the ‘Melo 2’ sub ohm tank for less than 20 bucks. This tank has a kind of strange hybrid top/side fill design but anything ios better than bottom fill imho. This tank is another workhorss and sits atop my iStick 100w proudly. They are a good pairing…

So all in all I am happy with all but one of my purchases. I think I have sub tanks covered now and I can begin working my way into rebuildables. I am currently looking into the DIY tool kits available from MFS and so on…I think I can put one together myself for cheaper though…

If anyone was on the fence about a tank or MOD I hope this helps!!

oh yeah…one other thing. I have started experimenting with 15mL name brand liquids again mainly to get ideas. One amazing fact leapt out at me right away upon trying two new juices. My own creations are getting pretty damned good. Not great (and neither were the two I tried) but I was shocked to find I prefered my juices to both that I tried.

One was Cosmic Fog:NUTZ … which as the name indicates had a nutty/caramel-ish sweetness to it. Wasn’t terrible but I couldn’t ADV it. The other was from Classified E-Liquids and was ‘Indulge’, which is Custard-Pudding-Cake. It actually tasted a LOT like my early custard experiments. Kind of…blah. So between the recipes you guys have posted and I have made and my own I come to this fact: Big companies ain’t got nuttin’ on us!!
