I mixed this up as a single flavor at 1% 70/30 0 nic, it steeped at least a month.
Does anyone else get Tahitian vanilla? Aside from a silky smooth bright vanilla, I got a hint of cherry, while slight, definitely noticeable in the single flavor.
I watched old Noted ID10T reviews it, he does not mention it. I’ve read reviews here from people and no mention of anything about a particular vanilla.
When I was given VSO vanilla raw to review there was a definite hint of cherry and almond. When I asked Shane, he said it was made from Tahitian vanilla beans.
SO, am I crazy, and the only one getting a hint of cherry or does anyone else?
Tahitian vanilla beans have a floral aroma with notes of ripe fruit. They have a rich flavor with notes of cherry, chocolate, licorice, and caramel. Tahitian vanilla beans are the most expensive type of vanilla bean.
This is a description of the taste of the Tahitian bean in the real world. The plant is a cross breed of two other vanillas. The extract is favored by chef’s in bakery’s because of the floral taste of the beans.
No your not crazy.
I have never got any other Note besides a Pure Vanilla. My bottle is fairly old but alwsy refrigerated at 50 to 55f …I can ask MF what type of Vanilla they were going for but im sure they arent actually using Tanitian if its that expensive
It’s not like a big cherry that jumps out at me, it’s just a tiny essence in the background. I used brand new coils and kendo gold cotton but then I changed the cotton to CB prime, and then COTON threads. I’ve only ever picked up that note in one other vanilla that was claimed as Tahitian. No biggie, it was bothering me after I watched Dave’s review on Noted. I feel like this vanilla deserved better
