If Iā€™m trying to match a percentage based on grams, like if I over-pour and want to fix the recipe to reflect whatā€™s going to be in the bottleā€¦I just nudge the percentage, scroll down and read the grams at the bottom of the recipe until it matches what I poured. I hope that makes sense!

The grams move in synch with the percent live without needing to save or refresh. So, you should be able to preserve what happened for repeatability.

Itā€™s all fairly simple maths reallyā€¦

So to calculate back into percentagesā€¦ 100%/3.4%=29.4

meaning: your 100% one shot concentrate is diluted in a recipe to 1/29.4 or at used at a strength of 3.4%

Your one shot is
Dark Chocolate (MF) 11.73%
Sweet Cream (Flavorah) 29.4%
Vienna Cream (FA) 58.8%

So your original recipe should be 1/29.4 of that strength
Dark Chocolate (MF) 0.4%
Sweet Cream (Flavorah) 1%
Vienna Cream (FA) 2%

BUT
You split up the 8.82g Vienna from the one shot into 6.75g Vienna and 2.07 Cream (Flavorah)
Then the Vienna Cream (FA) is 2% / 8.82g * 6.75g = 1.53%
And the Cream (Flavorah) is 2% / 8.82g * 2.07g = 0.47%

I hope you understand the reasoning, Iā€™m not the best in explaining things

Issue with that and ultrasā€¦ one tiny .02g can blow everything out and yeahā€¦
one more drop can change the outcome of your recipeā€¦ its the reason why ultras are ultrasā€¦

@Plunderdrum gave the correct advise too. If you donā€™t have a lot of concentrate left, start mixing with that. Not enough in the bottle, adjust the amount to make so the rest of the recipe is adjusted in real time.
Obviously this wonā€™t work if you donā€™t have enough concentrate for different flavors. If thatā€™s the case, restock before you start mixing or risk that you end up with a mess you may not find a way out of.

I donā€™t know why I didnā€™t think about what I was doing here before I started making that flavor concentrate. Brain fart is the only excuse I have.

It also wouldnā€™t let me save that to do a 15 ml concentrate something about the % had to be above something ā€¦ I bet I pay attention better the next time I try to mix this LOL

Maybe Iā€™m too much of a geek but I usually play around with stuff like the one shot calculator to see what it can or cannot do before I bring out the scaleā€¦
Iā€™ve had it too that I thought I had more concentrate than I actually had, but adjusting the total volume of one shot saved the day. But really do start with the concentrate you have the least of. I do not recommend untested substitutions in one shot creations, although Iā€™m sure in this case itā€™ll work out fine.

My suggestion is just for saving a version of the mistake recipe in case it turns out good  Iā€™d keep a copy of the original intended %s, usually in the notes so I donā€™t have to adapt.

Also, @authormichellehughes, I failed to notice you were making a one shot! I was speaking(writing) in terms of standard recipe mode. I donā€™t know if the one shot calc does the same thing. Looks like @anon28032772 had the answer

I needed to tame down that MF Suomyona, and I agree normally I wouldnā€™t do that either. After flavor testing at 6 drops in 10 mls though I still tasted the flavor after brushing my teeth and drinking a cup of black coffee LOL. The alcohol burn was a little intense.

Yeah, thereā€™s definitely no shake and vape with MF or NF in my opinion.
Typically a minimum of ~3 weeks.

I donā€™t think there is alcohol in the DC. I could be wrong, though, as they are a touch vague in their description, and previous assumptions have been wrong, ie. the fact that the is PG in all of their flavors but no mention of it on their site or bottles!

Technical Information:
"Our flavors are obtained through a proprietary technology conducted at temperatures below 118 degrees F. This process comprises a multi-stage extraction encompassing initial desiccation, lyophilization, and CO2 extraction.

Ingredient: genuine flavor extract*
*Apricot, Bergamot, White Cherry, Pink Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Orange and Rum flavors require additional alcohol extraction and may contain up to 5% residual grain alcohol."

Iā€™d have to request a MSD sheet to know, really, but I donā€™t get the alcohol bite you do on unsteeped DC.

Could it just be bitter? Not doubting your experience, but I donā€™t taste the alcohol.

It could very well be the chocolate itself. I noticed the same thing in Flavorah Chocolate Deutsch it has a strong alcohol taste but thereā€™s no alcohol.

I am glad i found this thread. I have been intrigued by MF, but never pulled the plug. I am a new-ish mixer (5 months). I am think I may put in an order now for a couple of flavorings.

@MFKNSuzie if you are looking from some STRONG and accurate flavors, look no further. You DO have to keep in mind that they need to be mixed MUCH lower than most other flavors, AND, you want to let them steep, sometimes a month or so.
