When making a 120ml does one have to bump the flavor % up, for example when I do a 30ml I do about 10 to 15% flav depending on the strength.
I never do!
cool, thanks for the quick response
don´t think so. 120 should be the same as making the 30 ml 4 times so just take your recipe and multi every value with 4
=)
the reason I was asking, I made a flavor that I measured by ml and I started to measure by weight and I made the same flavor in the amount of 120ml and the taste was a bit weaker…still was good, hit it with about a ml flavor shot.
The difference may be the volume and the specific gravity your using isn’t the same, it shouldn’t (normally) make a noticeable difference, but if it does seem to be that far off, ensure you use the flavor specific gravity when mixing by weight WHILE WATCHING THE VOLUME. While I know a lot of people use a standard of 1ml = 1gm if your recipe tastes that much different you can adjust your recipe by watching and learning the volume difference when you mix your next batch i.e. when you add your flavor by weight and you see the volume isn’t meeting what the weight says your at, determine if your above or below your desired volume and adjust accordingly. I personally use 1ml=1gm and not specific gravities. But as @Nappen stated it shouldn’t matter if your making 10ml or 500ml weight is the same multiplied throughout the process.
I have heard that larger batches require longer steeps and more shaking tho.
I have noticed this with my batches as well. I make 120ml batches quite frequently.
Longer steep time required is the answer IMO. I’ve made a few 120ml mixes, and they did seem to take that bit longer than 30ml of the same juice to shine. You’re making larger bottles to stock up mostly anyway. You can vape it away, it’ll still steep as the days go by, just leave it in your dark press at night.
30ml vs 120ml vs 1million ml should in theory be the exact same.
However, there is a variance in measurements that can occur. Not sure if that is the right wording. Basically, it’s questionable when you are measuring by weight and you add “0.25gram” of a flavor…did you add 0.255 or 0.245. These little variances can cause problems when scaling up or down.
Steeping time should be the same, but the work can be doubled when going from 30 to 120ml. To "vigorously " shake to get the bottom to the top of the bottle of 120ml is more work.
All those little things can cause slight issues in the end result.
Simply put - there’s more of the stuff that needs to gel together - should taste and vape exactly the same as a 30ml batch once steeped though
