I love the idea of a simplistic approach but alas the chef in me in addition to my OCD I can’t seem to leave well enough alone! I overthink most of my mixes, and without question with my cooking, I always make even the simplest of dishes much more complicated than necessary!
I envy those such as yourself that can approach things on a more reasonable level.
Whatever the approach…… Vape on! :dash:

I think it is one of them type of recipes that will benefit from less is more. I havent got the cake cream to really pop in mine. Always comes out tasting like mocha coffee

:+1:I’ve always thought the same with most of the Tiramisu recipes I’ve tried to create or mixed from others recipes. It’s either too heavy on coffee or it’s just really creamy without any Tiramisu flavor. I don’t know if the WF Coffee Cake will show up enough at 3%. It’s a light cake with a nice coffee note, but I might need to add a cookie to help fill it out. Or maybe even a drop of FLV Biscotti.
Im using the WF Mascarpone and I ordered FLV Brie just in case I need to build up the cheesiness. I’m gonna try that FA Custard extra 2 because I’ve read that a lot of people say that is a really eggy custard.

Totally teasing you, so many jokes can be made about scratching your itch

The flv biscotti is tough to use. I find it often makes the mix really harsh.

The custard extra 2 is very egg heavy but its also a hard one to use even though i do like it .its very heavy on the buteric

Hehe, yeah, the Biscotti can run rioughshod over many a mix.

Used low its a great mixer flavorwise but even at .like .3 percent the harshness still comes through

:grin:that’s exactly why I wanna use extra 2 paired with mascarpone cream cheese for a eggy custard with a really in your face cream cheese flavor. Hoping that the buteric from extra 2 adds extra flavor to the MCC.

Yup I know it was thinking .05 like 1 drop in a 30ml. Or mix a .10% dilution and still use 1 drop. Lol only if I need it.

@McDuckie have you ever solo’d FA’s Tira ?

Yes I bought it back in 2020 when DevelopedDIY attempted a Tiramisu. I got a good strong coffee with some very light bakery notes.

Are you attempting to add a Vanilla Finger profile ?

I was thinking of using WF Coffee Cake due to it having a slight coffee note, but it can be weak @2% so I thought to add a cookie to build it up.

Throwing my 2 cents in. I’m in a rut right now. I was on a hot run and then it halted dead in it’s tracks. I just carry on with re-wicking, cleaning my tanks, preparing my pre-made bases, hoping I’ll get motivated by my actions.

@McDuckie do you have any opinions on commercial juice companies that seem to be disappearing? Do you think it would be a gesture of helping the community if these companies dumped their recipes online? I ask because one company did just that a few years ago when they went out of business. And Cassadaga dumped a recipe on their FB page because it wasn’t going to make it to market. What are your feelings about it? Why are some generous and others so tight assed?

I know there have been a lot of small eliquid companies dropping out of the market. A few causes is govt interference with their regulations that make it too expensive to do business in the US market.
As for eliquid companies that release their recipes to the public, it can be a great thing if you enjoy their products. I remember speaking to the creator of MR Good Vape many years ago during a discord video chat. He released a few of his classic recipes (Moon Sugar) because he got tired of people asking for them. Some companies or creators don’t have any issue with sharing their recipes others won’t release them for any reason. Perhaps they intend on selling their recipes to another company. I know that Five Pawns bought a lot of small companies recipes and rereleased them under the Five Pawns authority.
Since I started DIY mixing I don’t really enjoy to many commercial eliquids myself. I mainly use them as resource material to create something better. It can be a great resource if you like a certain eliquid, but you may have felt it could have been done better than what they offered. The main problem I find with current commercial eliquid products is that the govt interference by forcing companies to use synthetic (non tobacco based) nicotine. The use of synthetic nicotine changes the taste of the eliquids (it tastes too artificial) that we used to like.
Personally I think they the commercial eliquid companies still have a market if like Kings Crest they started offering their products as eliquid concentrates (basically a one shot) that way as a unfinished product without nicotine they can skirt the govt regulation’s. And we as the vaping public can still get our favorite eliquids without the nasty stuff.

Funny you should mention that. The creator of Cassadaga has a new website selling just that, his flavors (one shots).

I have two commercial juices I would love to remix but haven’t come close enough to satisfaction yet. I’ve spoke to the creator because they’re hardly online anymore but he didn’t seem open to selling or releasing the recipes. Not yet anyway.

Yeah, Idk. It says coming soon so I didn’t even look far into it. I still see Cassadaga juice being sold at certain vendors but Idk for how long. It’s not that I’m hung up on Cassadaga I’m just following trends and it looks like the old school favorites are dying out and all you can get with certainty are pod liquids. Times have changed and I guess I’m getting nostalgic, lol. Back to my own diy drawing board and hopefully I can remix some of my old favs.
