Mixing Rut

Lately I’ve gotten into a mixing rut. I don’t know if it’s laziness or what but I can’t seem to get motivated to mix and create or even change my wicks and coils! Does anyone else experience this? If so what have you done about it?

Oh I feel ya bud I’ve been there. In fact I go though that all the time. I get into a rut and feel like mixing it isn’t worth it. And sometimes I wonder why I even mix anymore. I have a ADV that I love. Yet I still go out and buy new flavors and experiment with different ideas or go back and retry new ideas for old recipes. As an example I absolutely love Tiramisu yet I’ve never had a good Tiramisu recipe that works for vaping. Yet I’ve had new ideas on how to make something work.
My advice is don’t think of it as a rut but as taking a hiatus from mixing and take a few days/weeks to regroup. And eventually you’ll get your grove back. Stay Positive my friend.:+1:

Thank you for the encouragement, very much appreciated!

I too love tiramisu and have been working on one for a while now and it’s getting close

I agree with @McDuckie , sometimes you just have to step back and do other things, take your mind off it.

I am in a null now but it is just trying to find the time, when I do find the time, I can’t think of what to do. I haven’t done a new build in a few weeks, been relying on pre-built coils and pods.

Decided to nix buying anything new after my last holiday spending spree, too much I haven’t even opened yet.

It will pass, just gotta set your mind on other things and come back to it when your ready. Or it might not pass, being free from nicotine is not such a bad thing.

lol. I have been in a mixing rut for 1-2 years. For me though I read @SessionDrummer flavor reviews to see if something sparks my interest. Then I order and mix. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. But my follow up on the lose mixes is well…poor to say the least.

I also vape less and when I mix it often now covers 3 months of liquid needs. Sometimes six months considering my liquid I’m vaping now is marked for December of 2023.

Hey Tim if you want to share your ideas for a Tiramisu maybe we can find a good solution. I found that using WF Mascarpone cheese with either FLV Bree or LA CCF makes for a convincing Tiramisu filling. I plan on getting the LA cream cheese off Amazon to see it it is any different than the Cream cheese frosting. These are the flavors I’ve been attempting to use.

This is my latest edition, I’m waiting on this version to finish steeping before I try it (a few more days), version 2 was tasty but just a bit heavy on the coffee note so I dropped the percentage on that significantly. I also had shisha brandy and cocoa INW but the cocoa note was too strong. I’m thinking about adding a bit of brandy but waiting to see how this comes out.

Been there @TimWV. We all have! I always have like 8-120oz bottles of my favs laying around, so sometimes I just chill from the vape cave… I still visit the forum tho. I have to send at least 4/5 ’s - and post my Wordle score everyday!! :joy:

I been working on a tiramisu also but not ready to share.

What do you guys think about fa tiramisu ?

@STR8V8PING I like it in a mix, it’s definitely a little strong at first, it needs a long steep (15-21 days imo), it needs help to create a decent tiramisu. I think it has a little bitterness which at first it hit me wrong but I’ve come to believe after a good steep the bitterness becomes a part of the flavor profile of a good tiramisu, I have been trying different percentages of Nomz Crème Anglaise and it rounds it out and brings it all together (for me).

Thanks. That sounds about right. Maybe that is my problem. I never let it steep long enough. Iv always found it to make the whole mix really bitter but i know lots of people really like it. Ill try to let it steep a long time next time i use it. I dont think i have the nomz cream anglaise. I have the decadent vapor one

I don’t have the Decadent Vapor Crème Anglaise so I’m not familiar with it’s flavor profile.

It’s a really strong coffee with cream, I don’t really get a tiramisu from it though. The same with INW Tiramisu, it was a bit creamier but still too coffee forward. A tiramisu isn’t really heavy on coffee. It should be noticeable but yet the coffee should sit in the background with the liqueur. Now I’ve had tiramisu done traditionally with a Marsala wine and I had it done with amaretto and with dark rum. I’ve never had it made with coffee liqueur (Kahlua) though I’d like too. I think the hardest part for me is finding the perfect balance with all of the different flavors. The creamy/sweet/custardy/whipped cheesiness that comes from the mascarpone. To the coffee/liqueur infused ladyfingers or cake. And let’s not forget the light dusting of cocoa powder on top.

I’m mixing when I get home tomorrow. For dome reason, I got **THE ITCH""!!

You wanna try to create something “Vanilla” with me?!

Sure, I kinda got the itch last night and started working on a blueberry & Raspberry Lemonade. I’ll start thinking about a vanilla mix tonight.

That’s why I want to try a simple recipe. Seeing that an actual Tiramisu is a very simple recipe. The alcohol/coffee soaked cake/cookie base combined with an eggy custard based mascarpone cream. And topped with Cocoa powder. I’m gonna try this once I get my Diyejuice order.
