Mixing with H4CBD 91% distillate

Hi all,

I’ve got plenty of experience mixing my own e-liquids but I’m trying to figure out how to use H4CBD distillate to mix up an e-liquid.

The one I’m looking at is a 91% distillate but I can’t get my head around how much to use to make 100ml of liquid or how to convert the % to mg strength.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums, @GreatVapes. Honestly ive not even heard of this compound and would not ingest it by vaping as i found very very little information on it other than how it is made.

If it were me i would mix it with MCT oil and take it sublingually.

CBD is easy enough to mix with VG/PG for vaping but i have no idea about this substance. If i may ask, why not just regular CBD?

Welcome to ELR @GreatVapes,
I am no expert by no means and would recommend you do more research and do some math, but looking at a site that sells 98.5% H4CBD for vape pens, they use 5% per 1500mg strength:

I created a quick recipe for 1500mg strength using that info, but cannot confirm that any of this info is correct so use your own judgment,

I would also suggest contacting the vendor of the H4CBD for additional advice on mixing with e-liquid

Hi Ken,

I’ve done masses of research on H4CBD. It’s simply a hydrogenated version of CBD (4 additional hydrogen atoms added to the molecule) so it’s as safe to use in vaping as CBD itself. The additional hydrogen atoms assist with bonding to both CBD1 and CBD2 receptors, giving it a much stronger and more potent effect than CBD. It’s been around since the (I think) 1970s so it’s nothing new but seems to be just starting to peek it’s head above the parapets! There are juices and disposibles on the market but they’re ridiculously expensive so was looking at making my own.

Thanks for this.
I must admit, after looking at countless websites and destroying my brain doing maths, I think I’ve worked it out since posting this. I’m not 100% sure so your input is really helpful, thank you.

From what I can gather (if anyone disagrees or knows better and for those showing interest), the mg of CBD/H4CBD quoted is the total amount of CBD within the container it came in. The amount of CBD you’d actually add is a lot more complicated as it depends on the purity of the CBD. For example, a 70% broad spectrum distillate contains 700mg of CBD per gram of distillate. A purer 91% distillate contains 910mg per gram etc. So to achieve 1500mg in a 30ml bottle, you’d need just over 2g of 70% distillate or around 1.6g of 91% distillate.

There are also isolates, which appear to be almost pure CBD extractions.

It’s a bit of a minefield but I’m really keen to give it a try!

Sounds about right for a 100ml batch, to simplify things I was using 100% distillate in the calculator which comes to 5g per 100ml (or 5% regardless of batch size)
So based on your 1.6 calculation, to mix 91% distillate using the ELR calculator you would need to enter it at 5.32%…
Sample Recipe for 100ml batch size;

Please let us know how you make out because I’m interested in this as well :ok_hand:

So first, dissolve the CBD in PG then add heated VG, gonna want to keep it around 60/40, it doesnt dissolve well in VG.

What i do for my wife is i just dissolve in it PG and she drips in her RDA along with what ever juice she is vaping. This works really well as CBD craps all over coils so only having to use a couple drops a day makes the coils/wick last longer.

Hi Ken, thanks for that. I’m just at the point of about to order! Going with a 70% H4CBD broad spectrum distilate. The mix will be 50% distillate so 350mg CBD/ml. Rest will be flavours and PG/VG. I’m using disposable carts that are designed for thicker mixes so would you say 80/20 or 70/30 would be a better mix?
