Ooo, that was good. I saw season one when it first came out. forgot to watch second season. Loved Carrie Coon’s role in it.
Not sure how many of you have taken psychology courses but the Stanford Prison Experiment is one of the more interesting experiments conducted on humans. There are some good documentaries on the subject but they put out of movie this year:
Definitely worth a watch.
So my wife and I are on the third episode of season 1. She’s not liking it…says it makes no sense. I like it ok but have to agree, it’s going right over my head.
Anyway, that music is nice. Reminds me of this for some reason.
You will need to watch season 1 to understand the premise of what has happened (although it is all a bit weird). I promise you the storyline and acting in series 2 is just great and all that weirdness from the 1st series isn’t repeated
Did anyone watch The Expanse on SYFY? Just grabbed the first 4 and giving it a go, never read the books tho.
Childhood’s End was pretty darn good despite the mediocre acting by some.
Seen two episodes so far - I’m a sucker for sci-fi! It’s not bad so far!
Looking forward to watching Childhood’s End!
Me too, ill watch almost anything sci-fi. As someone who has read Childhood’s End more times than they would like to admit i found the show to be pretty good, ive watched it twice already.
Just finished Lost Girl. It was good, but in this case definitely not for everyone. The last season felt a little rushed, though. Like they were trying to tie everything up too quickly. Guess that happens when a show gets cancelled. On to the next thing!
The Last Ship is a pretty good show, post apocalypse show. This is my third time through and it is just as good as the first time.
Saw Hateful Eight last night…bit disappointing. Long, slow, “western”, indoors…not a good combo.
Acting was good, screenplay not so much.
First season of Dark Matter was pretty interesting. I’m looking forward to catching the second next year. Making my way through Jessica Jones when the kiddo’s not around.
Finished the last season of Falling Skies last week. Something about that show just does it for me. I wish it’d lasted longer. I could have done with a couple more seasons and a little more development and history of the Espheni and the Volm.
I enjoyed all 3 LOTR as well as all 3 of the Hobbit
Absolutely. These movies were EPIC and I was glad to see them stay with cast members throughout.
I watched all three LOTR movies in the theaters. I was just a tad let down with what I felt was some of the more important story lines missing. Then I bought the really nice box set of extended Blue Rays with all the extra behind the scenes footage and I binged one weekend and watched all three movies. That is a challenge even on the theatrical version! But they were so much better. And all the behind the scenes stuff really help to appreciate the monumental undertaking Mr. Jackson and the cast and crew went through to film these movies. And New Zealand… Oh my god! I so want to go there!
I have the blueray/dvd sets for LOTR and The Hobbit. Ive watched them at least twice. Me and my baby boy watched both one long weekend.
Ok, now that takes dedication.

Nobody watched it’s a wonderful life over Christmas and wept?
I can’t get teary eyed over it after having seen it umpteen million times. But the first time I saw it, well you know.
I finished season two of The Leftovers. Again, more questions than answers. I don’t want to sit through season 3, but dammit I just gotta know a few things. Perhaps like Lost there will not be any resolution to some of the mysterious things until the decide to end the series, and just like Lost, the keep this level of intrigue and overly repetitive theme and you just want to say screw it! I’m not watching anymore! Then you click play on the next episode.
I think I’ve only seen it twice, with so much time in between that I don’t remember the story anymore. Under those circumstances tears will flow
I spent the weekend with my 3 year old watching Disney’s Planes, Wall-E, and Mighty Machines
