Hi all. I’m going to have ago at making some MTL Pod recipes this week, a couple of my cousins have the Uwell G5 Lite (cheep rubbish). But I thought I’d have ago of making some pod mixes for them. I’ve been mixing for over a year now for myself and few friend’s, but I’ve never tried pod recipes
Is there any advice anyone could give? The dos and don’ts, best flavours to use and so on. Anything would be a big help really. I suppose the whole process will be trials and errors just like first journey into mixing, but pods are just a mystery to me.
Ive mixed for the G2 pod system and you don’t have to go crazy high with the flavoring, just take one of your favorite fruit flavor mixes at bump up the percentage a little bit and have your cousin try it! You can go 40/60 pg/vg in the G2 probably the same for the G5?
Take a look at other (Pod) recipes on the site to see how others are going about it for reference:
Ahh thanks. That could be where I was going wrong with one of my mixes, could have been putting in too much flavour. I had a look around ELR, I seen recipes ranging from 16% to 30% on pod mixes, thats why I was confusing myself and thought id get some advice.
I used to have a G2 pod, so I don’t think there is much, if any difference between the g2 and g5 pods, they seem exactly the same from what I can make out. I’ll try some at 40/60 aswell, might be ideal. I was doing them at 50/50.
Nothing wrong with making mistakes though, I always say you don’t learn unless you make mistakes. I really despise pod systems, but I do love a challenge.
Yeah the high percentages are probably ppl trying to replicate “Disposables”, I consider the G2 as well as the pnp tanks “ Pod Mods”
I actually have a few recipes that I mix up as-is for Pod Mod users that say they are great
One of my Pod recipe tester’s loves this mix as-is, he just gave me another empty bottle to fill yesterday. He said s couple of his friends tried it and said it was too sweet lol:
That does look good, I’ll have to have a gander ar some of your pod recipes. I’ve tried a few of your mixes before and you never disappoint. I’m definitely not looking at going for a disposable kind of style, they’re way too strong and sweet. But I do want my recipes to be leaning more to the commercial style, so that the switch from commercial liquid to DIY liquid is easier for my cousin, Essentially I want to make sure she becomes a returning customer and I don’t disappoint.
You’ve been a help anyway, I appreciate it. I’ll just have a play around myself, give some of your recipes a try and use what you’ve told me.
keep it simple, nothing to complex, the less flavors the better in most cases. The smaller the chamber and power on those devices the harder it is to pick up the fine details in some recipes. I’ve found the best pod recipes are usually 2-3 flavors most of the time. This one is loved and well received by many people, still mix it for tons of friends and family who use pods. You can leave out the ice of course. I prefer it without.
Yeh, I’m trying to keep it simple, but I’m one of those. I’m like “ooo I’ll add that… ooo what about that?l I sometimes get too carried away. I’ve got 3 that seemed to have gone well so far. Thanks for the advice.
