I like being barefooted at home and I cannot express how important that telescoping magnet is for “sweeping” the floor around my build area. I have a metal desk lamp that is surrounded by small magnets on the outer rim and I use this to hold my small cutters, screw drivers, allen keys etc. while providing light to what I’m doing. They come in very handy.

Yes me to but I also after learning the hard way use it to tell titanium coil from kanthal titanium is none magnetic good part when sorting twisted or Clapton titanium sucks when trying to find a pice I dropped blind as a bat so use zoom function and the light from my cell phone trying to find a piece of wire or hole coil I drop plus some profanity when it gets stabbed in my finger hand foot

A slightly helpful tip: I recently bought a pack of adhesive backed foam craft material from my local discount store (6 6x9 sheets for a dollar) and stuck some of it to a large piece of cardboard that I use as a build mat. The foam keeps things from rolling about and absorbs minor spills. When I cut my wires, I just aim downward onto the mat and they won’t bounce around. When it gets too dirty, I throw it out and make another one. I was using an old towel which worked but would get all bunched up and drove me crazy (short drive).

If you use an iPhone there is an app called Mag Light Pro that might interest you. Allows that same functionality but I can also freeze frame the image and zoom and move it around without taking a photo. The single app on my phone I use multiple times everyday. I’m required to read these stupid small serial numbers on my job everyday and it makes it oh so easy. We also use a lot of super tiny screws and have a metal flecked floor finish. I’d never find those if it weren’t for the app.

Yeah but I’d look way funnier in front of a customer at work wearing those.

Well, I’m on the road right now, and this is what I have with me, so I guess this is my “must have” list:

Got a keychain screwdriver, coil jig, ceramic and metal tweezers, a dissection pick, swiss army knife, flush cutters, couple kinds of wire and cotton. Got a little bit of overlap in some of those tools, so I could probably go a little lighter if I took my time packing. Also the kanthal is in case my folks needed me to rebuild protank heads, cuz they’re old skool.

If you ever fail to find that one little piece of wire no matter how hard you try, invite me over. I’ll take one pass through barefoot and guarantee you I’ll find it first time

I got this vape bag a few months ago. It keep everything I need nice and orderly.

…and after my purchases of the DNA 200s this powerbank comes in real handy. I recycled 5x18650 batteries from a old laptop battery pack… @Ken_O_Where suggested ordering a empty powerbank. I can get two full mod charges before it’s depleted.

You look even funnier squinting to see all those little screws we use

Nice bag, something i need as i use an old camera bag. Those DIY powerbanks come in real handy when out and about. I used some reclaimed laptop 18650 2500mah Panny’s in mine.

No doubt, PV’s bag is sweet! I recently picked up a small tool bag and it’s very useful, although I think his bag inside my bag would be perfect! I’m going to do some looking around though and try to find something I can insert inside my bag that holds mods securely but offers easy access. As for tools and such, this Stanley works great and even has room to spare for juice bottles and batteries. Quite the departure from what I’ve been using…daggum shaving bag

This is more for the old farts, like myself. I just picked this up yesterday at Harbor Freight. It instantly made life easier. Normally $39.95, the cashier scanned a 20% off coupon that she had laying next to the register which made it $31.95.

This thing is heavy duty, a real beast.

You rock. I was just out looking for one of these two days ago. Staples in stock ones were all expensive. I didn’t see this one when I was in Harbour Freight in Dearborn. I’ll have to check again.

I picked it up at the Wayne & Warren, Westland store.

It’s really built like a tank. I think there were 2 or 3 left on the shelf, when I picked up this one.
