I used to get VW juices a lot before I did DIY. Not concentrates but finished juices. I liked them, but I’ve long suspected they tended to add sweetener to just about every juice they make (not really uncommon with vendor juice really).
It is possible maybe that they also amp up their concentrates with sweetener as well? Have you tried to use sweetener to see if that seems to get it closer to what you remember?

Just my opinion, but tfa watermelon is hot garbage… their watermelon candy is mediocre but way better than plain watermelon…I used to be obsessed with watermelon vapes and never found a really good natural watermelon that didn’t need a lot of help, if your looking for a candy watermelon then I suggest Lorann watermelon clear, it’s similar to a watered down jolly rancher, I have heard good things about the OOO watermelon candy flavors but have never tried them.
