New and at a lost

I stopped using disposables because of the price,
but i couldnt find the right e liquid it all just tasted like nothing and didnt give me the same “hit” if any at all as a dispposable vape would, so after looking around for a bit, someone recommended to go diy, and i decided i would.
And i have a few main questions and concerns:

  1. I saw that the kit youre using plays an importent part in the flavour profile you get out of the eliquid, im currently using oxva xlim, is it good? Are there any better choices youd reccomend?
  2. As i started digging in a bit more i saw a lot of ppl still couldnt get the same tastes as dispposables, any tips there?
  3. There arent alot of companys that ship to my area, i found a company called nom nomz that ship to me, anybody know what the best company they have there is for fruit flavours?
  4. As i said before, no e liquid i found gave the same “hit” and smoothness at the same time as dispposables, any tips on how to avoid the same outcome?

Thats it, sorry for making it so long i have so many questions in the subject XD

After extensive research and deconstruction of a few different disposable vapes. I have found that it is nearly impossible to reproduce the results that folks get from these types of units. Flavor wise it could be possible but the coil mechanism and its construction work in a completely different way from our RDA/RTA or even pod units. The coils and firing mechanisms of disposables are more on the lines of the classic e-go pen style vapes. In those cases where the coils are built for a more MTL/RDL vaping the liquid has to be very high in percentage (30% or more) and very loose (like a 50/50 or 40/60 blend) for maximum flavor saturation. The closest I can find in vapor production to a disposable is with a small pod unit running a MTL type sub-ohm coil like a .8ohm with a high percentage super sweet simple juices and then having the airflow wide open. Of course that’s also using Nic-salts @ like 50mg. Which is way too high for me, so my testing was done with VG based freebase @6mg. This is one such recipe that with a .8 coil in a small pod like the Uwell Koko pro 35w .8 coils running a high % high nic juice you can come close to the flavor of a disposable vape.

@Yalli welcome!! I am very new here and so only really at the beginning of my diy journey! Wanted to say I use the Oxva Xlim Pro and yes for commercial nic salts and 50/50 liquids the flavour is brilliant… very different to diy. And its taking a lot of trial and error with getting the flavour percentage amounts with each brand and flavour! The recipes part of this site is so vast and contains hundreds but you can add in the search bar pod or mtl pod and it will bring up results more suited to the low powered pod device. I was advised( and have found this to be the case!) A recipe with lots of flavours doesn’t really come across flavour wise with the pod kit. I’ve got only a handful of flavour concentrates so far that I like and am sticking to mixing them in various combinations!! Nom nomz are really great and customer service is second to none. Would it be an idea to try some of their one shots? That way you get to make up some juice using diy but without the guessing of percentages and what goes with what. I did find that helpful to get me going and still do.
I dont want to say something wrong as am very inexperienced, but I am doubtful you would achieve disposables flavours with a diy recipe using the pod kit. Just my thoughts though. Good luck!

What type of fruits do you like, I can help you there.

The more simple the recipe the better for pods. 2 fruits and sweetener. If you want to go to an rda/rta you’ll get more complexity in flavor, but I know people who diy with an oxva. It’s doable.

Welcome to the forum, keep researching and asking questions! There are years and years of knowledge and experience here. Don’t get overwhelmed, you got this!

I bought a big shot of pixie juice im hoping will be good, but i do like the appeal of mixing my very own unique flavours so i bought also a few of those. I think ill like the proccess of being an alchemist xD

Thanks alot! I like mostly tropical flavours, mayve banana but its tricky it really depends on the taste it has. Good to know that i need only a few flavours, i kinda made a recipe with 5 flavours  (pineapple, mango, passionfruit, hints of peach and super sweet and sour) so maybe it wasent the best idea…

@Yalli I really enjoy the mixing part of it and creating recipes!! It’s fun and a way to learn which flavours blend with which, or not!. I’m personally not a fruit flavour preference and I love vanilla, biscuit etc, but the few strawberry recipes I made I found that the fruit concentrates had more presence from the pod kit than creams etc. The flavours seemed more fuller than my own creamy vanillas and desserts I did. Think possibly fruit might be a little easier to gauge the percentages needed for pod kit? And less steep time compared to desserts. I’ve got so many steeping that some will have 6 months by the time I get to them which hopefully will help the creams etc!!.
Nom Nomz do a really good selection of one shots and neo big shots too to have some easier mixes as well as making your own. All the best.

“I saw that the kit youre using plays an importent part in the flavour profile you get out of the eliquid, im currently using oxva xlim, is it good?”

I didnt like them. I prefer the xros. Other good ones are like geekvapes and some nords/novos but generally it seems xros is the best, at least for me.

So they tend to use neotame which can be a big part. Honestly, disposables are just over % and over sweetened. You can easily mimic this but it wont be as enjoyable as just creating your own and having a normal level of flavors n sweetness. Pg.vg ratio matters but find the ratio that works for u. Most do 50.50. I found 69vg works best for me. Itll take some time but youll get the hang of it. With my xros, i just mix normal. Nothing special. I take rda recipes and make sure theyre good in pods. Thats all
