I do find vendors are partly to blame. Iâve bought flavours that are named differently on their site compared to their name on the manufacturerâs website. Also, theyâve either been sold with a slightly different name or some people are too lazy to enter it correctly & shorten the name. Good example there with BCF missing the (fuzzy) outâŚ

Sorry, I meant on the flavor list page, not recipe page. You had notes, may have been pre Fuzzy, but see you got notes back on there now!

It looks Salted Caramel Fantasy was merged with Salted Caramel (Chefs Choice). These are not the same flavors/brands; Chefs Flavours is NOT Chefs Choice. Nick Nevans will not be happy (Salted Caramel Fantasy was his best caramel). Why, oh why⌠Someone stop this madness.

Losing flavors / notes is a travesty, but Merging flavors / notes is disastrous!.. And probably irreversible and shouldnât be done lightly.
Without trying to be disrespectful, I question the qualifications of those in responsibility of data base changes. I have brought my concerns to the attention of the owner of the site. I have not gotten many answers to any issues brought up Above, Think thatâs all I have to say about it until answers are provided. (Backed up all my recipes) and continuing to go through my stash one by oneâŚ

@TorturedZen - What criteria are you using when you decide to merge? I used the notes section to put the location of where the concentrate was. I have 65 tubs & numerous drawers. Thankfully the salted caramel I need to locate is a 100ml so I have less locations to hunt it down. I have recipes that are now messed up because itâs calling the wrong salted caramel up. I have added Salted Caramel Fantasy (Chefs Flavours) back into the database. Please donât delete it.
I have also re-added Strawberry Fizz Fantasy (Chefs Flavours). That disappeared also. Was that merged & if so, what to please? I think this merging has to stop. Itâs messing recipes up.

Can anyone just confirm that 02 invalid is only for Cereal 27 or is it a generic invalid code?
In that case Iâve got a few hiccups, some will be saved based on my weak memory, but quite a few wonâtâŚ
Maybe a list of the invalid codes would be nice to have.

Frank, it looks as if you removed that 02 invalid flavor from your flavor stash.
What I did was look at my flavor stats and it shows the # of recipes with that flavor and the actual recipes if I click that number.
Iâve been saying 5 were fucked but itâs actually 9 for me. I double checked and got 9 from my recipe backup

@TorturedZen - Grape (LA) has now been merged with Grape (Clear) (LA). Exactly the same Grape, one with colouring & one without. I have both. Iâve now lost where my Grape (Clear) (LA) is as itâs disappeared, sighâŚ

Well I have managed to finally add the flavour names in to the notes for a total of 1098 flavours in my stash, which has taken forever, but fingers crossed if more changes I have got more to go on.
I noticed a few dependencies like Yogurt (New) (FA) which I have to assume has been merged with yogurt base (FA) I have stated on my notes for this & other similar changes that my notes pertain to the old version which I hope will help if only a little for others.
Messing flavour names up is one thing, but merging flavours so there are notes for different flavours all together is a monumental disaster.
I would love to see the work done reversed if possible as it seems to just be making more problems than it is solving them, ok the way is was has issues, but those issues were easy to work around with a modicum of common sense & a little aptitude, merged notes are not something anyone will be able to make any sense out of no matter how gifted they are.
I still have my sister profile to try & get in order âThe lost notesâ which was created purely to save notes for other mixers to benefit from, this was down to the fact that if you remove a flavour from your stash/delete it then all the notes are also deleted along with it (madness), this is surely a problem that could easily be amended so when flavours are removed the notes remain ???

Yeah this had been addressed before in 2021 when it came out. I think Tam had got hers directly from FA at the time and it WAS Style, now it has been changed back (again) to (no style) in the data base, correct name was merged to incorrect name (BCF is reseller) so the notes were merged also.
Iâm just going through my stash and on the âCâsâ and pointing out issues as thatâs what this thread was purposed forâŚ

In all fairness to you and @SessionDrummer, I just checked diyejuice in Canada and they also donât have the âstyleâ. Considering theyâd both come from FANA, thatâs where the error could have started.
Just like that âTahityâ which is not on FA Italyâs Limes. Just Lime Coldpressed and Lime Distilled. I brought that one up privately like 6 months ago and got a resounding no to being changed.

Flavor names do get changed as they change hands to the resellers, we all know that⌠Iâm just pointing out discrepancies to the actual manufacture brand name with flavors now showing in my stash.
