Apparently, we were all deceived! LoL. According to @daath and confirmed by HiC’s notes and FA’s website, Vanilla Bourbon is just vanilla. I kept adding more and more thinking “Why does this not taste like bourbon??” It all makes sense now…because it isn’t bourbon, it’s vanilla. It’s a GREAT vanilla, but it’s not bourbon. Now I need a bourbon flavor. LoL
You’re right JoJo
It is the old name for Réunion Island, Île Bourbon
Here’s the skinny (from Wikipedia)
The majority of the world’s vanilla is the V. planifolia species, more commonly known as Bourbon vanilla (after the former name of Réunion, Île Bourbon) or Madagascar vanilla, which is produced in Madagascar and neighboring islands in the southwestern Indian Ocean, and in Indonesia.

I perhaps should have just said Alcohol taste. I used to get a little Jim Beam vanilla and that’s what it reminds me of. However, as for it tasting like bourbon…no.
I need some reglar vanilla, I thought I ordered some but I got more Tahiti.
Been working on this one a little while. Tried a few variations but this is more in line with what I wanted. First time I tried I thought it was a weird flavor…not bad just odd. After it finally aged with the last variation I find it rather enchanting.

Notes
Rich Custard sprinkled with Orange Zest and Kahlua Syrup Drizzle.
Unique flavor, not for everyone I’m sure. I love it. Steeping at least 10 days, this is rich and creamy. Can be vaped in as little as 4 days but time will smooth it out very nicely. Orange Citrus (FLV) seems to change in strength over the first few days but after that is a great accompanying flavor. Using now in the Advken Ohmega with dual 26ga Titanium, 6 wraps on 2.5 mm. Found the best flavor at 540F. Differences in temperature make a huge difference in flavor.
It’s a good vanilla. I have the Madagascar vanilla as well. Now that I know what it’s supposed to be, I’ll start using the vanilla bourbon as a vanilla.
Yeah, you know after I read your other post I really felt like a complete dumbass. I remember testing this when I first got it as a single flavor. I thought - that’s an odd taste. It’s certainly vanilla, but that doesn’t taste like bourbon to me. Definitely alcohol but not bourbon. I just chalked it up to TPA and how often I find their flavors to be less than I expected. Hell I didn’t know what Bourbon Vanilla was, and the fact it was part of the Castle Long recipe, well I just assumed it was supposed to be a bourbon flavor. Once you posted that I went to the TPA website and checked it out. No wonder I taste alcohol. That’s what’s in it. And no wonder I didn’t find that bourbon taste, it’s ethyl alcohol. I’m sure used in the extraction process. Anyway it gave me a different outlook and renewed hope for this flavor. Now I know
And apparently, Madagascar and Bourbon vanilla are the same thing -
Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans are superior, with flavor and aromatic qualities that make these beans the most popular and sought after vanilla variety. The flavor is rich, dark and creamy with an overwhelming sweet, buttery aroma. These are well suited for many baking recipes, drinks and desserts. If you are trying to decide where to buy vanilla beans then look no further! We know you will agree that our Bourbon Vanilla Beans from Madagascar are the best in the world! Available in Wholesale and Bulk
So there you go. Dang vanilla…why must you be so complicated?? LoL. And if Madagascar and Bourbon vanilla re the same things, why does FA make both?
I’m tingling with anticipation for the answer to this most excellent question
I think Madagascar (Vanilla Classic) is the one you know from ice cream etc - it’s a light vanilla - perhaps extracted a certain way. Bourbon (Vanilla Bourbon) is darker and more aromatic. You’re right though. Technically it should be the same, but I think Flavour Art just made a variation of it that has much more body…
I once had some Bourbon Vanilla extract that was very light - but then I tried a real Bourbon Vanilla bean - so much difference!
Good to know. Guess I know what my next batch of single flavors is gonna have in it. Then I can put this question to rest once and for all! LoL
YES… finally did a decent ( well, it’s really pretty wonderful IMHO) CHOCOLATE vape.

Favorited! I HAVE to get FA Chocolate and Cocoa…they’ve been on my list for so long now, it’s a shame I haven’t bought them. Now I have a good reason (thanks a lot ) to buy more stuff! LoL
haha… I KNOW your pain. I have a shopping cart full @ $75 right now. Can’t bring myself to push the button yet. I have to sleep on it.
Chocolate sounds good I’ve never had a good chocolate vape before I was thinking of adding the chocolate to my order when I was adding hazelnut, must have been thinking too hard because checked out w/ no hazelnut in the cart either!
I’ll leave the chocolates for a later date though, don’t want to be in over my head in recipes haha
Damn I have everything except the french vanilla lol.

This has turned into an ADV for me. To the point I’m not experimenting with new recipe’s. Thought I’d share it here as it was gleaned from several different ideas from this site. Interested to see what you pros think. I’m not doing this for anybody and don’t share my juice with people. It is totally personal and limited to my consumption.
I’d also like to thank all you people for sharing what you’ve learned and making it so easy to enjoy vaping and not spend so damn much on juice. It is sinful what they get for it otc. Thank you very much!
I made this a couple months ago and I finally got around to trying it.
This mix captures a Creamy Pina Colada with a Cookie Crunch in the background. It’s not a in your face flavor, but a mellow and mild Pina Colada flavor. This could be increased, (Pineapple 1-2% and the Coconut .5 - 1%) for a stronger flavor, but I like smooth like it is. I would suggest to try it as is before a flavor increase.

If you’re a peach fan then this is for you. A Peaches and Cream with a little Yogurt twang. IMO Yogurt is the best fruit enhancer that I’ve used. The Coconut is very mild and serves more a sweetener than a flavor. I made a Peaches and Cream a couple months ago… but this one really is much, much better. This mix is Peachy, Peachy, Peachy with a very smooth cream note. The Pink Guava is waaaayyy in the background and it acts as an enhancer also. This is the best Peaches and Cream that I have tasted.

You have to love mixing with Premium Flavors. They are very true to taste and the %s are low and easily adjustable.
So I read your recipe notes. Unfortunately I don’t have any INW Peach or FA Vienna Cream. I would still love to try this though. Other peaches I have are TPA Juicy Peach and CAP Juicy Peach. Would you recommend a sub of one of them?
More questions. I’ve tried the Pink Guava before and thought I should slap a biohazard sticker on the bottle. Does the peach counter that oh so grapefruity taste. I’m surprised at 2% it wouldn’t just rule the mix completely.
As for creams, I don’t know what I may have that would serve as a good sub for Vienna Cream, if I have anything at all. Any suggestions? I have TPA French Vanilla Cream and Whipped Cream, CAP Butter Cream and a few others. Lemme know brudda.
